Happy St. Georges Day Funny how this day doesnt generate the same interest as St Paddy's etc mind Probably because half our MPs are not English and have no interest in promoting it unlike the Irish Scots or Welsh how many English MPs are there sitting in their parliament or assembly Its took a Torie PM to warn councils NOT to spoil the fun In other words stop making it difficult for the man in the street showing his/her patriotism. HAPPY ST.GEORGES DAY ;D Fly the flag and slay the dragon

St George was Turkish, St Patrick came from Wales. So fly the St George flag and support Istanbul ;D I would never fly the flag, too many connotation with the far right lunatics. "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" ~ Samuel Johnson

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" ~ Samuel Johnson Milky thats the attitude of the PC brigade and why people dont fly the flag ....In fear they may be seen as a racist. Its time we time we took the flag back from the idiots In this world of multiculturalism does it realy matter where ST George comes from .....

The attitude of the PC brigade it to ban the flag altogether. I'm not saying that I won't never fly the flag as people do regard doing so I could be a racist and that it not acceptable to me, or is the other impression it represents that I am a royalist. You can also be proud to be British without a flag. I do agree we need to reclaim the flag from the wannabe Nazi morons and the sycophantic sheep.............but how.

Being honest I also have problems with the Union Jack as I saw it most often whilst growing up as an emblem of first the NF and then the BNP I think many people do unfortunately still associate the two but it doesnt help when parties such as the BNP still do use the symbolism of "Britishness" as part of their propaganda. From the frequent use of the flag,to references to Churchill and men dressing up as St George-unfortunately these things stay in the mind. Near us theres someone who up until recently had a Union Jack in their garden-and it sounds awful but the first thought through my head was to wonder if a racist lived there
