Looking at some of the photos on the Grand National thread I started to think about how fashion in this country seems to have gone decidedly downhill in recent years. This year Ive noticed the emergence of "belly tops"-where you walk round with your stomach sticking or or in some cases hanging out,the pyjama brigade are still going strong and theres still this obsession for looking absurdly orange Nearly every shop you go in sells the same stuff-those tops and dresses either runched in at the bottom with elastic which flatter no-one or cut asymetrically.I hate trying to buy clothes cos its a real job finding anything thats a bit different. Saw some male fashion blokes recently on TV parading out models they had dressed-nearly fell off my chair laughing at some things they suggested we walk round in.The bright yellow skirt with dayglo orange sandals was particularly memorable. Mind-much blame has to rest on those people who choose to dress themselves like this-can people not be individual any more?

it,s the chavs that make me laugh, they take little bit of fashion from the past them call it their own style, grandad caps, been done before now chavs wear them, trackie bottoms tucked in socks, 1930s golfers, berghaus jackets, went out of fashion donkeys ago yet the chavs love them, and why the hell do they go round in the summer with them zipped right up, cheap gold coloured jewellery that turns you skin green when wet, first sold on the quayside markets in the 70s, the pyjama thing i know people on campsites used to often nip to the showers in the morning or the campsite shop dressed like this and thats where it should have stayed, as for the Tango look, do these girls realise just how stupid they look, they are chavs so probably not they will think they look beautiful, maybe to someone who has a fetish for oranges they do.

Must agree there skint!! No fashion is "new"!!! It's just regurgitated from the past! I just wish I'd kept some of my 60's stuff I had those platform shoes in the 70's - purple and pink ones ;D I do wish the 20's flapper dresses would come back, I've got a vintage one, but cannot fit into it anymore I sometimes wonder if some people have mirrors at home!!!!!
