Anyone know anything about Tree Preservation Orders? Or rather how to get them lifted? We have trees in front to the flat, that have grown too high and we want them pruned, but apparently a TPO was put on last year without anyone here knowing about it, and we cannot touch them!!! Is there an appeal process available, and if so how do we go about it?

I know, but we don't want to kill them, just lop the tops off!!! But as there is a TPO on them nowt can get done!!! I really need to know if there is an appeals procedure to get the TPO taken off. It's a planning dept. matter apparently. Has anyone heard of this being done?

Just tell them it is making you feel unwell with a lack of light getting in to your flat. That sould do it.

Ann as I'm not sure which council issued the TPO in your case try this link first to get an idea of the rules etc. (Download the doc) then get in touch with the relevant council department. If these trees constitute a safety hazard then I'm sure in double quick time they will do something about them....................if not just mention our friends in the media that usually puts the wind up them! www.communities.gov.uk/publications/planningandbuilding/tposguideaddendum CWL
