i know the cow in the cow that thinks it's a horse story would never get into Ascot ,well at least thats what i thought, but if you put a dress on it i think it would fit right in.

Well-thankfully its over and another two horses dead I know I was messing about the other day about sweepstakes etc-but in reality Ive never bet on it ever or watched it. Is this the only sport when death of a participant who didnt choose to enter is ok? So many times we get these graphic photos in the press of these horses falling to their deaths to entertain us-I actually find it repulsive.

I agree shadow, but I find the sight of foxes being ripped apart whilst alive by hound even more repulsive.

some horses love the race some dont thats why they get pulled up if they are not enjoying it, i think the problem is too many horses in one race, i also think it's the first time some of those horses have jumped fences that big, im certain if there was less horses in the race the deaths of those 2 horses may have been avoided, race horses do get well treated and im sure they dont end up as buchers dog meat when their racing days are over.

Aye skint but theres a difference between different types of "racehorses" On the flat its thoroughbreds racing and they are worth big money-I'm sure they get well treated because they are an investment-many have bloodlines going back how long? And after racing the mares become brood mares, the successful stallions are studs. I know of many ex thoroughbreds however that didnt end their lives quite so successfully. My mate owns a couple of horses herself and at her stables there are ex-race horses-thoroughbreds with broken knees that were discarded when they were no longer useful-what owner is gonna keep on a horse that can no longer race? National horses or steeplechasers are entirely different. They used to be horses that proved their merit in the hunts and arent of any particular breed.I doubt if any of them come across the jumps in the national on a regular basis whether they like to jump or not. I think its one thing for a horse to enjoy jumping-but why then make them jump ridiculous sized hedges and hurdles as part of what is almost a herd All it takes is one horse to land wrongly to wrong foot another-the basic design of their legs means they cant exactly swerve Blinkers stop em seeing whats happening at either side and on top of that youve got a demented bloke on top whacking the horse Not good

So do I shad I've been to one along time ago, never again. Didn't ask June if she would like to see one, because I'd know what the answer would be..........the second word would be off. The bulls have a chance to get there own back in Pamplona once a year.

i think bull fighting is terrible they should keep it but make a few changes, no bull to be killed and they should put convicted criminals in the ring with red flag tied to them ;D.
