Everybody knows how Rory Delap is a long throw specialist, often to very good effect and to Stoke's advantage. How is it that he is the only, or one of the few specialists at this in the Premier League? Surely, with a bit of training, application, other teams (namely the Toon) could develop and designate a player to do the same?  |

Probably the main reason that not many other teams use it in the Premier league is that their teams are not full of giants like Pulis has in his.................... Can't say I particularly favour the idea of a football team built on that basis even if it is effective. Not being good enough to out play opponents so much that they have to resort to out chucking them! CWL  |

Fair enough, Mags, but if it gets the odd goal here and there.....knaa what a mean, like!? Maybe if at the end of a game if we still are looking for goals to save our skin and nothing else has worked all day...like against Everton recently. |

We are six points from relegation zone and pretty much everybody is beating everybody at the moment. Win ugly is the name of the game where necessary.

Maybe for you winning is important but as a manager I'd stick to my philosophy and play football despite coming up against bullies like Stoke. Thats because I believe in my team and in my philosophy. NUFC won't be relegated if stick to our passing game. We shouldn't be dragged down to Stoke's level. |

We need every single point we can get at the moment. Everybody is picking up points all over the place. No-one is allowed to play football at Stoke. We have to face a future with continued injuries to key players, more injures and suspensions. We do not have a squad strong enough to cope with the challenges that are just around the corner. For me PL survival is the most important thing at the moment, Philosophy can go out the window, fight fire with fire. Just being realistic!

We are already on 36 points and I will repeat it WE WONT BE RELEGATED....Yes we aren't "mathematically safe" but we will get the points to survive. Had we been in the bottom 3 now I'd endorse your philosophy. But why panic when we're safe and actually have a passing game thats worth sticking to (if you're been watching our games recently). You seem to make our situation seem so "dire" every time when it isn't . I wonder why you do that. Doom merchant or WUM...Take your pick.... |

Note to Magpie. I have no intention of contending this or any other issue with you as I am certain it will end up as oft times before. Unanswered questions, ignored posts and ridiculous excuses about not wanting to hurt Marlene. I may be a doom merchant with good reason but at least I'm not naive  I am no WUM. I think you'll find that it is WUM's who cause people to stop posting on forums. |
