Ann have you changed anything in your members profile since the Avatar disappeared?

I have had images and the like dissappear from Photobucket in the past often because the originator has pulled the plug on it or I have exceeded a time limit set by the site. It's one of the reasons I don't use them anymore even for sending people my own photo images etc.

Best bet is go back to basics and use the link Polly provided. Doesn't matter what Avatar you select at first as all you are doing is testing it will work. The direct link you need to use is visible below the image once you click on it to have a better look. Just copy and paste that link back into your profile and then see if it appears when you have completed the modify profile bit.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on. If all else fails I'll find you a link to paste into your profile.

By the way I think your cat is available somewhere on that Jurko site.

I've tried using other sites and none come up!! When I logged on this morning, my pic had disappeared and a thingio saying I'd exeeded my bandwidth, I've not done anything to my profile! This bloody week just keeps getting better - not!!!

Sounds as if you have a usage agreement with your ISP...............

It's nothing to do with the speed of your connection but basically whatever you are paying has a built in limit regarding data and downloads. You often see that kind of thing with mobile phones along with the number of minutes and texts available in the agreement.

Worth checking just in case you were not aware of such a restriction. It may explain why the images have all gone and you are unable to load any others as I suspect they are links rather than actual real images retained locally on your machine.

Once you have paid the next set of charges I would expect them to return as the restriction will be lifted. That is until you go over the imposed limit for the month again.

I've got unlimited, and I can download other things (below), just cannot do avatars

Are you using "save image as" and then loading up to photobucket?

There's no need to Fairs. On photobucket all you need to do is, pick your pic, copy the URL and paste it where you want it to go like..................

Ann I suspect your members profile has become corrupted somehow.............

I would try going into it and deleting any direct links you have in the Avatar column. Also remove the 100 by 100 size limit so that is also blank. Then save that profile.

Then try placing one of the system pics in as your Avatar and see if that works.

If that is successful then try again to submit another Avatar from say Jurko as I know there's no restriction using images from there and see if that does the trick.

One last thing, has there been any updates recently that may well have changed some system settings on your machine?

If so you may well need to check that also and reset to what you normally have in place unless you always just go with default settings.
