Does anyone else enjoy going to these and having a good rummage? Some of them are like little Aladin's caves and its amazing what you can pick up there. Years back I used to get most of my clothes in this type of shop because you could get something so different to what mainstream shops were selling.Had some beautiful vintage dresses from one in Newcastle near the Haymarket-sadly long gone now-and an RAF jacket that I used to wear constantly-loved it.I still buy shoes or clothes that catch my eye now at well below what you would pay for them in "normal" shops Theres one in Low Fell that I love-St Oswalds shop-and Ive had a few bargains from there.Solid pine wardrobe for the kids in immaculate condition is one-and today an upright freezer that looks brand new. Also got a few books whilst I was on. I bought a huge seascape painting from another a few years back which I store at my parents house-cost a fiver-but its by a painter called Maurice Meyer and is apparently worth a bit more Definitely bargains to be had

Bloody hell, the mind boggles, Skint! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Seriously, though these shops are worth looking into.....one man's rubbish is another man's treasure! We, too, picked up one or two bits of pine bedroom furniture in a shop in North Shields....great value, great condition!

Aye some of the furniture is great I don't buy clothes there though, only because they don't sell the sort of gear I wear My sister does all her clothes shopping in second hand stores, has done for years - through choice not necessity ;D got two lovely bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers in pine at a fraction of the cost of new ones, I'm on the lookout for wardrobes now

Ann I now have this vision of your sister walking down the road wearing matching bedside cabinets................with her chest of drawers in pine. You never know it may catch on as this springs fashion statement. CWL
