I think that there are some fantastic new artists around for instance camera obscurant and belle and Sebastian but I don't think song writing I mean lyrics are as good as they used to be my top ten song writers are paul Simon Randy Newman bob marley billy Bragg Leonard Cohen Lou reed nick cave bob Dylan max Romeo Pete townshead although I do think Martha wainwright is very good but as good as Paul Simon I'm afraid not and anyone who thinks diffremt is 100/ cent wrong

There are a lot of good songwriters out there.
Darren Wharton in Dare, Christer Andresen and Arild Aardalen in Keldian just to mention some.

Chris I know what you are getting at, however much will still depend upon an individuals taste in music. There's plenty of good song writing talent out there just a matter of knowing where to look. Although sharing musical genres and introducing people to different artists through a forum like this is one very good way  to spread the word. CWL  |

From Keldian? I have posted their songs before. I tend to listen to the music posted and enjoy it or not-Im not a big lyric person-with me its more the music  I was asking cos you said they were good writers and I was going to listen to the lyrics but the music thread is 21 pages long  You dont need to post the songs-just tell me what page its on  No offence intended-I like some of the classical stuff posted on the music thread but I couldnt tell you which ones off the top of my head-I dont remember unfamiliar names too well  |

Thanks cwl I know what you mean but I do think theres a lack of quality in lyrics these days in the 70s and 60s people seemed to have more to say still that's the crappy x factor genaratipn I guess ps I have i happen to no shadow has no taste when it ces to music and if she says different she100/wrong

Natts heavy metal is not renewed for it's lyrical content however led zep have written some good songs hope you agree but if you don't you are 100/wrong
