After all the rubbish printed about Stephen Ireland being ready to step into the breach against the Toffees this weekend he now has suffered a thigh pull in training so is doubtful! Nice to see that no matter what allegedly goes on at The Toon some things actually don't change. With Barton also looking doubtful, Guthrie in no mans land and Taylor suspended our midfield for this fixture is looking pretty thin on the ground. Is Vučkić fit? CWL  |

Vučkić has been away from a long injury I think so I doubt he is fit.
One alternative would be to put Jónas on the right and Ferguson on the left, but I think we'll see Simpson there and Steven Taylor as right back.

I know Tamas Kadar has a hamstring injury which meant he came back from his loan period early, but not aware young Harris was still suffering long term injury. Kid seems to have disappeared for whatever reason from first team affairs. Wonder if he went to Italy and that's why not been around lately? Not a bad shout about swapping wings with Jonas and playing Fergie on the left. However as you suggest the idea of Saylor with Danny Simpson down the right hand side is not going to be that far off also. Which when all is said and done means Barton will be back come Saturday............  CWL |

I'm going for a 4-2 win for Toon.....maybe Ranger's first goal when he comes on as a substitute. Two of our goals from open play, two from spot kicks. Theirs from open play. A straightforward entertaining match....no controversy. Three points in the bag!..........(I hope!).  |

You're right there Pol We were watching on the computer and we looked like we couldn't be bothered in the second half!! I felt like ramming that whistle down the ref's throat as well, he must like the sound of it, he blew it often enough
