You would think that they would be tightening these laws instead of loosening them what with all this business of "internet grooming" of children etc.

After being castrated they should be forced to walk up and down the High Streets of Britain, wearing sandwich boards stating I am a sex offender.

I watched an interview with that slime ball sub human Jonathan King. He said he's not bothered it makes little difference to him, so why is he campaigning for it. We can't seem to get the balance right in this country, you go to jail for not paying council tax but not for mugging an old woman etc etc. The whole system needs reevaluating. Sexual based crime sickens everyone, and people have a right to be protected from these animal. The register is vital tool for doing that. Judges are always accused of not living in the real world, and the Supreme Courts decision only gives credence to that argument.

Problem is Milkhope that unfortunately due to the nature of these crimes they are still under-reported.I know from talking to friends who have been abused as kids that the fear of splitting the family apart or fear of the perpetrator, let alone the idea of the physical examination and court appearance means that many, many child abusers never ever are reported and have clear records.CRB checks will not ever pick them up.
I was frankly shocked when I found out over the years how many people, men and women,I knew who had been abused as kids-by their dads or grandads-and many of them held "respectable" jobs.
Not a single person felt they could report the abuse.

That's the problem, yes these high profile cases make the paper, and everyone holds their hands up in horror, and wants all manner of horrors heaped upon them, which is totally understandable. But the majority of cases are never heard about, and are perpetrated by family members, which I sometimes think is worse!!! They are the very people kids should feel safe with

Sometime the partners also turn a blind eye. It's a wonder all those children aren't messed up for life, but many get over it. I was amazed at Fred West's children they were so well adjusted and perfectly normal.
