I really do feel for essential workers trying to get into work during the holiday period up here.Mr Shads has worked almost all of the Christmas period and transport has been a real problem.On Christmas Day and New Years day-he worked both-he had to pay for taxis to and from work as he doesnt drive-and of course it was at elevated rates-nearly forty quid in total for each day.
And now we have a couple of days Sunday service.He has to be in work for 7.30am leaving him the option of one bus-at ten past six-next one isnt til 7.25am
Then he gets to sit in Newcastle with everyone else waiting for the first metro-at ten past seven-a forty minute wait.
Surely to goodness in this day and age things should be a bit better than that!!!

The pubs and clubs are open till all hours, so why can't they have a Metro that runs on the hour from Town, until about 4am? I think they must be in cahoots with taxi drivers!!
