Does anyone use a dash cam and if yes what one and what do you think of it and has it came in handy, i have been using an action cam as a dash cam and they are quite good, i started with a kitvision escape HD5 and now use a kitvision EDGE HD10 battery life is about 90mins per recharge, i am now looking at a dual camera dash cam which is a K1S which runs off the car utility socket and takes up to 64gb SD card but i have not decided yet as they are quite expensive, it's amazing how many bad drivers there are out there i usually capture stupid and bad driving 9 times out of 10, they are handy though as insurance companies are now starting to recognize them as a useful tool when deciding on a claim and having one can reduce you're premium, though at the moment they only accept footage from certain makes of dash cam the makes they accept footage from differ from company to company so best check with you're insurer, i have never put any of my footage on you tube but lots of people have including someone from Newcastle, look up bad drivers Newcastle.

About 3 weeks ago i finally decided on my car cam and bought a Thinkware 550, it's great camera i have both front and rear cameras, nice clear pictures and the night time footage is amazingly clear, the rear camera is small but some people still seem to notice it as i have had a few tailgaters back off suddenly,i have loads of good footage of bad drivers and close calls, it was a bit expensive at £219 but it is one of the best on the market and has a load of great features.
