I think it was causing problems with only one person... and he's left I don't really think others are really that bothered, most don't take it seriously anyway. I am heartbroken by this dastardly deed....I dont smoke, dont have sex with women or men, dont drink (only in binges) and this was a way to express myself and get some satisfaction in this dreary world...................I refuse to have this forum right withdrawn , as I signed up to include that privilege.......If this action is not revoked and overturned then I may have to leave in protest(shouldnt there be a vote?), and return to my other methods of satisfaction......whips,chains, farmyard animals , dwugs and even ex forum members.....................    |

I've disabled the Karma feature of the forum. It was causing a bit of a problem! Ann, no it wasn't....the problem was with members using it! However as Fairsy pointed out, despite what else has been posted it is simply an alternative way of expressing an opinion, nothing more, nothing less. The way in which someone perceives it's relative importance is another thing entirely. Given the nature of Forums a huge amount is left to interpretation when reading any post or thread and that is the hard part...... Trying to decide is it for real and serious or just a wind up and bit of fun. If in doubt each individual can always ignore it..... Bring back the Karma I say..... WL  |

Excellent........player power rules.....just as well.....the chains were rusty, the whip rotted and the farmyard animals had got bored and crossbred........it would have been horrendous.........ah ...the dwugs?........they'll last for a little while longer !

I will try and keep this as short as possible, however it is important so please stick with me.... First off, all of you as members of Renegades deserve an apology from the Admin Team for not bringing the following to your attention before now. I would be grateful if you can keep any questions you may have about that aspect until after this matter has been finally resolved. Okay so what is it all about.... Effectively it's about a major upgrade to be implemented by Pro Boards from the current v4 software platform to a new v5. The planned work to be done sometime between April 29th and May 29th. The observant among you will notice that is two days away should it happen on the 29th. I say should because quite simply up to now myself, Ann1 and Roma have no idea when it is going to take place or how long it will take to complete. The reason for that being it is very much in the hands of Renegades principal forum Admin, Shadow, to indicate to Pro Boards just what this site (basically Shadow herself) wants to happen. Had time allowed some kind of poll could have been conducted regarding the options below. By the same token we as Admin could have been better prepared as well for what is about to take place, however given Shadows enforced absence, now too late in the day I suspect. So where does that leave us... The options are: 1. Effectively the site can postpone this upgrade until later in the year and just carry on as it is using v4. However it will be implemented whether we like it or not come December. This may well be the preferred option proposed to Pro Boards By Shadow. 2. Alternatively Shadow notifies Pro Boards and the upgrade goes ahead sometime between April 29th - May 29th. I can only assume PB will supply a specific date for implementation. The implications for Renegades with option 1 are that nothing or very little changes. Providing they do as requested certainly nothing to get alarmed about. The implications with option 2 are a bit more of an unknown. As with all things IT related it may not go quite as anticipated, although given the scale of Pro Boards operation it's unlikely. Hopefully the majority of data will come across without a hitch including members details, profiles, passwords, threads and posts etc. Should anything alter I suspect it will be cosmetic such as possible colour changes, a new log in screen, section layouts etc. etc. On the down side the site may lose its smileys and background skins, however I believe they can be recovered or if necessary replaced. My main reason for telling you all is that other than birthdays I don't like surprises. On that basis I believe it is essential you all know what may be coming. Let's face it should you be unable to log in next week for no apparent reason. I guess you would be right royally p'd off about it if later on you were told it was because things had changed. Which we as Admin knew was coming, but didn't bother to inform you the members about. Unfortunately until Shadow reveals what decision is being taken regarding which software version Renegades will run on I'm unable to say much more.
