Whats a mirror tile Ann? Is it like a tile with a mirror on it cos it seems a bit small to be of much use if thats the case

Yeah it's a tile made out of mirror, IYKWIM. They had some the right size (about 18" x 18") in B & Q, but I only want one, and they were in packs - of 6 I think it was !!!! I'll probably end up getting a mirror with no frame and putting that up!!! I want it incorporated into the bathroom tiles instead of hanging on the tiles. It's always the same when I go shopping for anything - I know exactly what I want, and then get annoyed when I can't get it or there is no such thing!!!

Ah-I get you Ann-I thought you meant a small ordinary tile. I think weve got what youre on about in our bathroom-the entire walls are tiled and the mirror is set into the tiles-quite a big thing. It was like that when we moved in which is why I didnt know what it was called

Ann when it comes to paint you only get what you pay for You buy the cheep stuff and it will take 4 or 5 coats to get a decent Finnish and the more coats the longer it will take to dry whereas if you get a good brand it will take 2 coats and less time....Personally i would not put emulsion in the bathroom it will just crack and lift far better get a purpose made paint like Dulux bathroom yes its more expensive but it takes less time and the finish will last a lot longer then emulsion Ive found that to be true nick. When we moved in here at first we bought very cheap stuff and it was a nightmare -coat after coat cos it was almost like water.I then bought a more expensive paint and found it vastly different-one or two coats and a lovely finish You can still buy good quality paints cheap such as Glidden which you can get at any Dulux trade centre Mcpherson's is a good paint and you can get that at a Crown trade centre then theres Johnstones paints they have a trade centre in Byker Dulux have a trade centre on the Fossway & the Team Valley Crown have a trade centre on the Team Valley and i think they have one off Barack road There are a few others but the ones i have mentioned are the most popular. PS Don't use cheap brushes buy the best ones you can afford and look after them brushes get better the more you use them Ann when you store Gloss or undercoats make sure the lid is secure give the tin a good shake and store it upside down that way if a skin forms it will be on the bottom of the can When your finished painting for the day (oil based) but your going to start again later dont wash your brushes out stand them in water make sure the bristles are totally submerged your brushes will stay soft indefinitely

I have just come from a very harrowing trip to B & Q!! Nothing untoward happened..................................apart from the fact that Mr Ann was with me!! To say he dislikes DIY is wildly underestimating things!!!! Next weekend we're having a new bathroom put in, so yesterday we went to pick some tiles, had a word with the guy whose doing it, then went to order and pay for them today. So I suggested going to B & Q to get a mirror tile (to replace the mirror I've got there now. So after a bit of teeth grinding by Mr Ann, off we went. Had a look for A mirror tile, with marked lack of success, they only sold them in packs!!!
So I said whilst we were there we might as well get some Emulsion for the ceiling and gloss for the woodwork. You'd think I'd asked him to strip naked in the middle of the shop!!!! So we hit the paint section (have you seen the price of paint?? ) got emulsion, but tempers were starting to fray, and Mr Ann reckoned we had gloss somewhere (with emphasis on somewhere : it'll probs have a 2" thick skin if not dried up altogether!! The guy in the mirror section legged it, he thought we were going to have a "domestic"!!!
Got in the car, driving down the Coast Rd, and I said I'd forgotten to get a bolster chisel - car wobbled and I shut up!!!!! Passed a tile place in Norham Rd and I said we should try there for a mirror tile, the teeth grinding was now audible, and we sailed straight past!!! It was suggested I go there on my own (cleaned up for the purposes of the forum )
Mr Ann has now gone for a walk, so I suggested he goes and gets a large paintbrush for the ceiling - the noise of the front door is still reverberating around the estate!!!! And I still haven't got my mirror tile!!!
I know what you mean Ann if i was you i would employ a painter to do it .and spend spend spend on mirror tiles and what ever else you want.he may not bang the doors again or spit his dummy out.lol Also if you go to a tile shop im sure they would sell you just 1.
