So your saying he's allowed to commit murder because he's white? You sad sick man. Didn't think his dead girl friend was white. I hope you understand your logic, because I don't.

I read his court statement, and he spoke a lot about his Christianity. I don't know what it's like in South Africa, but if he had done that in Norway, he would have lost any public sympathy he may still have had. This has nothing to do with the fact that he's a Christian, had he been an atheist, or agnostic, and started spouting about his atheism or agnosticism at the occasion of his court statement, it would have been seen as equally inappropriate. What on earth relevance has his faith.
Maybe in some countries (for example South Africa in this case), talking about one's religion is seen as appropriate in such cases, but I can assure you that in Norway, it would have been seen as terribly disrespectful towards his victim and her family, to bring up faith at a time like that. And remember, in Norway it would have been the same if he'd been an agnostic/atheist and started talking about his agnosticis/atheism.

Where is the "Don't know" or "Don't care" option? guilty or innocent? if you don't know or care, don't vote. In Australian general elections, that isn't an option. But it is on this forum.

Where is the "Don't know" or "Don't care" option? guilty or innocent? if you don't know or care, don't vote. There could be the option....."Leave it to the South African Justice system. They know more than we do"......Now I'd vote for that one.

Normally I dont speculate on these sort of things but on this occasion I'll break my own rule. I cant say he is innocent of killing Reeva Steenkamp because its clear he did kill her-but do I believe he deliberately murdered her ? No I dont. I think he did kill her "by mistake". However that doesnt mean I think thats acceptable nor do I think it has anything to do with anyones race. I do think its alot to do with societies that firstly allow its citizens to bear arms and along with that two other factors-the fear of intruders and the right to defend ones own property. thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/12/24/3102541/father-shoots-kills-14-year-daughter-saying-mistook-burglar/

Actually I thought he was awful-the accidental showing of Reevas corpse again and again were nothing more than clumsy psychological tools to instill a subliminal message-no court could make that many mistakes for starters

I don't know if he is guilty of deliberately killing her or not, but I do know that hearing snippets abut the trial through the media has got everyone talking about it. One thing I think about is that if I heard a noise in my bathroom, I would immediately wake up Mr Bansh, and I think he would wake me. We would at least look to other side of the bed to see if the other were there. Surely your first assumption is that it is your partner in the bathroom. He does live in a gated community with security guards. Then if you are still convinced that it is an intruder, you surely wake your partner to get them to safety and call the police, or in his case, he could have rung for security guards. get out or lock yourself in your room. I don't think I would get my gun and go towards the intruder to shoot them through the door without knowing what the noise was. it could have been a neighbours cat got in the window or anything. Why do you shoot first when there are other options? One thing is clear- he did shoot and kill his partner. He did make a wrong decision when he had other options. he is responsile for her death. But like I said I am not at the trial, ut those are the issues I would e considering if I was.
