Over the Christmas weekend I called the emergency doctor as I wasn't happy with the way June looked. I was told they were so busy they were only seeing people with life threatening symptoms, and hers wasn't. On Wednesday morning when the doctors reopened I demanded someone come and see her from the surgery. A doctor came to see June and implied she was waiting her time and said June has likely just picked up a virus and get her to drink plenty. Twelve hours later, well the rest is history. I've no need to tell you how angry and upset I am and will always be.

You do wonder how in Gods name it all functions some-times and its a wonder how bad the GP service is actually getting. Few years back one of my kids was very ill and the GP refused to come out, insisting I bring him to the emergency clinic in Dryden Road.At that time I didnt have a car and he suggested the bus .Anyway my dad eventually gave us a lift.He was then sent straight to the QE with severe tonsilitus and temperature sky high.He was six at the time.Still cant get over that one And as for my mams recent illnesses and the management of her diabetes-man-3 different doctors doing three different things and now look where shes ended up.Angry is not the word for how I feel right now

It has really changed from years ago!!!!! Thinking of your experience and tonsilitis shads - when I was little I was plagued with it (got them out when I was 4/5) and my mam took me to the docs, as I was really bad with it. When she got her turn, the doc played hell with her for taking me out in that condition, and I was taken to the hossie to have them whipped out!!!!!! Now it seems they are getting paid considerably more , for doing considerably less!!!

Before and just after Xmas my wife was realy ill the doctors were mystified as to the cause but they decided it was an allergic reaction ....To what we dont know ..They started as always with the weakest of medications and increased them over the weeks to the point that the doctor had to get a 2nd oppinion before he prescribed a very powerful steroid it turns out my wife had scabies and went through hell. Its not as if scabies is rare but this experienced doctor hadn't a clue. When the the doctor who give the 2nd oppinion looked at my wife she said it was scabies but the doctor treating my wife didnt seem to take it on board

nick i cant understand how scabies made her realy ill, it's an itchy rash caused by a mite that burrows under the skin and is treated with creams, i always seem to get a doctors appointment no bother, they did try once to give me one for days later and i kicked up such a fuss they never tried that again, best to be firm with them if you want an appointment that day tell them and dont let them fob you off.

Skint-it'll be the steroids they mis-prescribed that will have made her ill. And Im guessing it wasnt much fun having scabies and not being treated for it for days either

Not fully up to speed about the specific details involving what has or is going on. However it's no joke when it comes to allergic reactions. They are often a damn site more painful, disturbing, alarming and difficult to deal with than the percieived so called normal complaint which is looked upon as causing the problem.
