This weekend has APee taking his merry troops doon 'Sarf' once again to London Town where they will play one of his former Clubs, Crystal Palace. Following on from the home draw against a committed Saints side the mood in the camp appears to remain very positive with this fixture classified as another opportunity presenting itself to gain some valuable points when on the road. Not that I believe The Lads will be taking this one any more for granted than they did for last weekends game. With no further injuries to trouble The Mags manager, from a selection viewpoint I reckon APee must decide on whether to remove Anita for the returning Cabaye or retain the Dutchman by going with a five man midfield and leave out Stroller. Must admit I quite like the idea of going with the five and Remy up front. Certainly believe the players would go for that with Gouffran and Sissoko providing plenty of support to the lone striker. Cabaye would also benefit hugely from this approach by being given an almost free role to dictate the game. It would also suite a counter attacking style which I think against Palace could be the way to get a good result of at least a point, if not all three. Palace under Tony Pulis have turned things around quite a bit recently and despite losing away to Chelski last weekend will be looking to build on some decent home form since his arrival. Dean Moxey has declared himself fit and is apparently back in defence following a hamstring injury which caused him to sit out last weeks defeat. His return a bit of a boost for The Eagles always providing of course he is actually clear of this injury and not returning too soon. Elsewhere in the Palace squad it's an opportunity to have a look at a couple of players that were linked with moves to Newcastle not that long ago, namely Mariappa and Puncheon. Neither of them having done a great deal in my opinion since they were quoted as potential targets, however both appear to be an integral part of this Palace team. I must admit my first few trips down there in the early 70's were pretty dismal affairs all ending in defeat. Thankfully I did get to eventually see a win in 94/95 when Pedro scored the winner. On current form I think a point is well within the capabilities of the team and a win would be a huge bonus once again. What do you think? Lights Oot!

If the above isn't enough to get you posting how about this lot from the stato's at Opta... Crystal Palace have failed to score in their last five meetings with Newcastle in all competitions. Newcastle United have won their last four league trips to Selhurst Park to play Palace. The Eagles have lost four of the last five matches against Newcastle in all competitions all by a 2 - 0 scoreline (W0 D1 L4). Newcastle's total of 27 points from 16 games is the same as they managed in 2011-12 when they eventually finished fifth. 20 of Newcastle's 21 league goals this season have been scored by Frenchmen. The only team in Europe's top five leagues to benefit from more French goals this season are Lyon (26). Despite conceding only two goals more than Newcastle (22), Crystal Palace (24) have 14 points fewer. Marouane Chamakh has scored in three successive Premier League games for the first time in his career. Only Fulham have drawn as few games in the Premier League as Crystal Palace this season (1). Palace have the lowest pass completion in the Premier League this season (73%) and it has been only 66% in the period since Tony Pulis took charge. Lights Oot!

NBC is broadcasting all PL saturday matches over here this year. If nowt on TV we can see any game via streaming video. first time ever a national broadcasting system has ever done it over here. Like heaven fer Juan, Mac and meself. I've been able to catch a few matches from Selhurst Park and was really amazed at how great the supporters were for this club. The matches I watched were when my favorite comedian and gaffer Ian Holloway was in charge. I guess we'll see tomorrow if Pulis has this team playing his brand of footie which is nothing like the game i learnt. Agree with the Deva and wouldn't mind seeing 5 in the engine room, let's face it the only one Shola gives fright to is the unwashed and even that is fading. Believe I read a post a while back that mentioned the proprietor of the Gentlemen's Escort Service will be in attendance. Wonder if it's too much to ask fer a match report? Knot holdin me breath tho.........haven't heard much from the lad since he went HOLLYWOOD...............

Well the latest is that Alphonse the Norwegian head hunter was down in the Smoke stocking up on a new heavy duty body grease that allows water to run off it while still giving maximum pleasure on the rub...if you know what I mean......... His sidekick Les Shagnasty is taking him to some seedy male strip joint tonight to see if the grease works... Ahhhh its the slippery slope for Alphonse I fear....

WL, Broon..... Seems we're in agreement re today's tactical formation... IF APee brings Cabaye back in then giving him free reign should see him at his best once again. Do feel sorry for Anita though, just as he gets a chance to show what he can do, he's oot agen!! Makes sense to go with the 5 man midfield though, as WL says, Cabaye can take charge with Gouffy & Moussa providing Remy with the bullets.........(as long as last week was just a one-off "glitch" ) To be fair to him he did look just as gobsmacked as every bugger else at the "incident"....... Enjoy the game "Juan", Broon & SM. For a change, Al Jazeera Sport aren't showing this one so will have to wait a day or two for screening or await report from Lonely Gents.com Can get Live Commentary via TalkSport Radio, but it's just not the same as watching Anyways, best o' luck with yer predictions.........ah'm mekkin' me move this week....

Been awhile since we seen the Mags boss a match like that one! TV coverage included some Hollywood sightings, Sting and our own Fartsy.........imagine that! Fat Mike is really chuffed with Cabaye's form.........big payday on the horizon has the Fat Bastard hard as a rock. Let's just hope our director of Feckall has plan to replace him and not with two so, so players for the price they get for Cabaye! But with all the canny moves Joe has made so far, fear the worse.................

Yes I was there and a great if not wet day it was! I'm no jounalist and will not even attempt WL report. Enough to say that hving spent a couple of hours training with my nephew we wandered in pouring rain to a stadium which took me back in time. We arrived drenched but optimistic, having placed my ample buttocks on the wooden platter they called a seat, i began to soak in the atmosphere. It was electric and the Toon Army were on song. As to match reports, you can read them elsewhere. I can only express my astonishment at how good a player we have in Cabaye - he dominated Selhurst Park. So impressive! Debuchy and Sissiko skinned their poor fullback in the first half and the poor lad was replaced at the break. Anita continues to improve as does Williamson. Collocini was majestic at times whilst Benny was as effective as any sub can be. His immediate dart into the box brought what was the biggest roar of the day - even louder than any of the goals. To sum up i can only continue to wonder that in their Brazil like strips our lads at times play Brazil like football. Having said that The Eagles were abysmal but credit Pardew for that - he appeared to have a game plan which worked.
Now Mrs Fairs is clammering for th iPad so i have to suBmit and conlude by wishing you all avery Merry Christmas - at least it started well!

Just about got my head straight after some decent training and great afternoon watching The Toon win for fifth time away, yes that's no lie, the fifth time this season and before Christmas, an amazing stat. Mikey will be thinking of doing what that other crazy owner Tan from Cardiff has done (No not send the manager an email telling him to F*ck Off or I will get rid of you anyway) and change the strip to the Brazil Yellow one The Lads so clearly love playing in. As good a ninety minutes of possession football as I have seen The Mags play in a long while. Palace just couldn't get the ball off our players and paid the price. Not the most spectacular goals you will ever see, but who cares when you win three nil away. Even the most optimistic supporter would have been hard pressed to say with a straight face before a ball was kicked in August that The Toon would have thirty points by now. Really up for Boxing day and Stoke....bring it on! Lights Oot!

If this was Pardew's fault give us MORE. Couldn't get enough of touchline shots of Tony P's hands in pocket, trying to figure out WTF to do...............mint! As far as Tan, can only come to the conclusion he's subscribed to FCB's line of thinking...........what else can I do to piss everyone off cause I need to remind them I'm the main man.............tosser!
