Wednesday has The Toon taking on Citeh in the Capital One Cup fourth round at SJP. After suffering defeat away to the old enemy on Sunday I reckon this will be another severe test for the Toon faithful. Not having got near them for the last eight, nor won for fourteen in all competitions, it's probably a big ask to expect something from this one. After all according to the hierarchy it's not a priority anyway. Barring a major miracle (minor ones being just not enough) against a squad with huge sums of money spent on it any victory will have to be earned the hard way, while defeat just another reminder of the actual gulf between the two clubs. Either way a result must be achieved on the night. Quite what the side will be is anyone's guess although I don't expect APee to throw caution to the wind by putting out an almost full strength first team eleven with Chelski arriving Saturday lunchtime. Could be a defining period for the manager if the side lose all three games in a week. Should that happen it will hardly be a surprise I reckon that the knives will be out again big time (including some held possibly inside SJP), accompanied by loud cries from those on the terraces, for him to be sacked. The guy really is on a hiding to nowt these days with Mikey having also fallen out with the local press over coverage of The Time 4 Change march. Even the mantra of 'Support the team not the regime' is becoming tiresome and also begs the question does anyone actually really give a toss anymore? Lights Oot!

This is all getting more depressing by the day, sick to the back teeth of Pardew and his excuses, his boss is something else!! Just mind blowingly arrogant.. ATB

Have to agree Capt. M. I'm pretty much losing interest in all things NUFC. On the bright side has not Ashley's press ban ( at least on local media) given them now the right to explore all avenues as any half decent newspaper would? They no longer need MA's blessing but can now dig deep and report on all they find. As to Man City and Chelsea games - Methinks we are going to need a fleet of buses (sp: busses ?)

Last week I had decided not to go to this game, however got my training days mixed up as kids on school holiday so much against better judgement etc. etc. I went. Must be f**king mad.
Bloody awful game and first ninety minutes enough to put supporters of either side in an early grave. Pretty sure there must have been a load of Citeh fans wondering just where the money had been spent as they looked as woeful as we were. Pardew must have been thinking he is completely shagged as the side he selected toiled to string two or three passes together never mind actually create anything worthy of the name scoring opportunity. I couldn't even sum up the energy to hurl abuse at the buggers, so don't ask about cheering them on to better things.
Having gone to extra time I still didn't actually believe a shock was on the cards and sadly I was proved correct (not that I'm gloating about that state of affairs either). Just had that feeling if they scored one that's game over. When it came I was livid as defending was almost as bad as that for Mackems first goal on Sunday. Although the movement and passing for the second was a different level from what we appear capable of producing.
Quite what this result means remains to be decided, however I reckon APee is two games away from the sack. He probably can't wait for it to be honest.
Now trying to decide which of the games to attend on Saturday, Chelski or the two fixtures the kids are playing. Close run thing after this evenings showing...
Lights Oot!
