Well our most benevolent owners very own media source has caused a right old fuss this afternoon in announcing NUFC are in talks to sign Wayne Rooney. The man is a genius as even if this is as likely complete and utter bollox just about everyone will be talking S**tDirect and NUFC. Also having tried to get on to the website to confirm this story it appears to have gone into melt down.....absolutely inspired. Lights Oot!

Anyway this is what was posted...and absolutely love the guys name FFS PMAO laughing! Newcastle United want to lure Wayne Rooney to St James' Park Wayne Rooney (Action Images/John Sibley) by Harry Sherlock 15th May 2013 2:00pm BST Exclusive Newcastle United are preparing a shock bid for want-away Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. SportsDirect News has learned the Magpies have already sounded out Rooney’s agent over a potential move, with United keen to offload the 27-year-old. A source close to the negotiations told us: “Newcastle see Wayne as their ideal player. “He’s a strong centre-forward, would relate to the fans and would be a massive boost to the club’s brand name. “Low-level conversations have already been held between Newcastle and Rooney’s agent, though the two clubs haven’t spoken directly yet.” Rooney is seen as a perfect candidate to boost the Magpies’ chances of a top-four tilt next season – and is seen as a man who will be hero-worshipped at St James’ Park. The England striker recently signalled a desire to leave Old Trafford for the second time in three years having been left out of several key games, including United’s controversial Champions League defeat to Real Madrid – putting the world’s top clubs on red-alert. But, with Bayern Munich the latest club to drop out of the race, Newcastle believe they have a very real chance of pulling off a massive transfer coup. The Magpies have been interested in Rooney before, and tabled a £25 million bid for him when he was at Everton – though the then 18-year-old snubbed a move to the Toon in favour of United. Lights Oot!

Hey lets get mercenary Michael back to play with Shrek...........ffs...what a fn shambles.......Its all Pardew's fault again Poor Vurnon Anita...what has he got to be thinking seeing Bewildered Lightbulb and Jonas eating up all these minutes...maybe I missed the portion of the season where Anita was terrible, but FFS...even Gosling gets playing time. Since the transfer window closed, here's his Premier League log: 02/02 vs. Chelsea - unused substitute 02/09 @ Tottenham - unused substitute 02/24 vs. Southampton - On 87 (3 minutes) 03/02 @ Swansea - unused substitute 03/10 vs. Stoke - unused substitute 03/17 @ Wigan - unused substitute 03/30 @ Man City - Started (90 minutes) 04/07 vs. Fulham - On 16 (74 minutes) 04/14 vs. Sunderland - unused substitute 04/20 @ West Brom - unused substitute 04/27 vs. Liverpool - On 64 (26 minutes) 05/04 @ West Ham - unused substitute 05/12 @ QPR - unused substitute Heading into that stretch, he had started 8 of Newcaslte's last 9 games in all competitions and 11 of their 12 Prem matches. In the last 13 Prem matches, he's played 193 minutes total...in fairness, he DID see some Europa League action during that same time...and I know the January transfers ate up some of his time...it just seems like he's become the forgotten man... ...which, I suppose makes sense when you have someone as memorable as Gabby on the bench...

And then today... SportsDirect News has issued an apology to Wayne Rooney after publishing a story claiming Newcastle United were keen to sign Manchester United's wantaway star.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley's company, had reported that "low-level" talks had taken place between the Magpies and Rooney's agent.
The SportsDirect.com source was quoted as saying: "Newcastle see Wayne as their ideal player. He's a strong centre-forward, would relate to the fans and would be a massive boost to the club's brand name.
"Low-level conversations have already been held between Newcastle and Rooney's agent, though the two clubs haven't spoken directly yet."
However, a clarification was published on the site later in the day, reading: “SportsDirect News wishes to express its sincere apologies to Wayne Rooney and Triple Sports and Entertainment Group for publishing the article ‘Newcastle in shock Rooney bid’, which was formulated and published without authority, merit and is untrue.”
Rooney recently stunned his Old Trafford employers by requesting a transfer for a second time, with Sir Alex Ferguson saying the England international was fed up with being left on the bench for important matches.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1448505/sportsdirect-sorry-rooney-report?cc=5901
