Sunderland: Cattermole and Fletcher out for rest of season Sunderland will be without striker Steven Fletcher and midfielder Lee Cattermole for the remainder of the season, the club has confirmed.
Fletcher, 26, damaged ankle ligaments on international duty with Scotland, leaving the field on a stretcher in last week's 2-1 defeat by Wales.
It is not known if 11-goal top scorer Fletcher requires an operation.
Captain Cattermole, 25, has undergone knee surgery and has not featured since February's 1-0 defeat by Arsenal.
The loss of two key players is a blow for manager Martin O'Neill, whose side lie 15th in the Premier League, just four points clear of the relegation zone.
Oh deary me....they'll proably play Titus too at STJP..........doesnt look good.........for them.

The game is also a sell out... so the reception should be as welcoming as usual for whoever plays. www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20130327/sunderlands-a-sell-out_2281670_3123714I knew demand was heavy today, however according to the official NUFC site all tickets were sold inside six hours from being made available to members at 10am this morning. I can only imagine there's a lot of disappointed people this evening around Tyneside who had high hopes of getting their hands on one, only to fail. Probably just as well it's also televised.... Mind you The Toon will be chock full of people in the bars to watch proceedings and absolutely amazing come match day! WL
