Given the fondness for conspiracy theories recently on here what do you make of the season ending injury to Hatem Ben Arfa?
Plenty been said already about his fitness record since the leg break suffered at the feet of thug Nigel de Jong when he hacked players for payment at Citeh. APee was clearly unimpressed by the level of his fitness when he came back to The Mags from France yet still threw him in against Anji last week. Was that intended as a wake up call to the player or a gamble by the manager?
This latest announcement just leaves me wondering is he worth hanging on too or if a bid comes in should The Toon let him go?
Don't get me wrong I think he is a wonderful footballer and on his day he is a definite game winner. It's just Hatem now appears to be spending more time on the treatment table than winning such games for us. Situation reminds me of Woodgate who was also an extremely talented player and superb defender when he played for us, but quite simply didn't or couldn't play enough most of the time.
Makes you wonder have NUFC had enough and he is no longer in the plans of the manager. Yet the Club doesn't want to put off any interest in him so they are saying it's an end to his season now. Is all this talk of needing an operation to sort his hamstring out just paper talk until our most benevolent owner can flog him to the Red Scousers or Gooners? Mind you if his fitness is in doubt surely he will fail a medical and scupper any transfer that way. Then again that also may be the plan to keep the likes of Roberts and Arsenal Whinger away....
