Great idea Jazz-been trying to think of other ways to "spread the word"-all sensible ideas considered Took the A4 size advert to North Shields Central Library today....librarian said should be OK but was passing it by the Head Librarian.....will call in there in the next few days to see if it has been pinned up. Sorry to have took so long in adding to this.....the library hasn't pinned the notice up and I just have a feeling now, looking at the notice board that they are all "official" or "semi official" announcements etc....will get round to asking somebody if our advert is suitable.

We can say what we will about the old Chronicle Forum but at least it had an "option" whereby one could choose to make certain members posts invisible. I can't remember what it was called but CWL was familiar with it and I know he opted for it on at least one occasion. Sometimes ignoring certain posters is just not enough as their posts are still visible making distancing yourself from them all the more difficult.
Everyone has a right to post exactly what they want to but everybody also has a right to not be subjected to what they themselves may consider unacceptable behaviour.
How difficult would it be to implement such an option here?

Fairsy that suggestion is something which will need to be investigated and implemented by Forum Admin as the Mods do not currently have sufficient rights to carry out the task. CWL

Is it the "ignore" function you mean? You could put people on the ignore list, and not see their posts, but if someone had quoted them, that did show up. I'll have a word with shads, and see if it's possible to do that.

20??? That many?? They can still post Pol, it just means that a poster who uses the ignore function, cannot see a post by another poster who is on their "ignore" list. If that makes sense!!!!

Just a thought but first glance at this forum only shows moderaters posts, why? If anyone from the original message boards, forum etc looked at the opening page/s they would only recognize CWL`s monica, (which is no bad thing) surely if all posters names were shown it might catch the eye of someone we knew?
