Reports today that our captain has gone AWOL. - Or is he on compassionate leave or strike or given away? As usual no information from the fools on the hill.

He has also been reported to having shown up on the training today. The papers are making up stories as usual to stir up in the pot... no smoke without fire though, this must have come from somewhere.

Would have been too much to hope that this would have been done and dusted after San Lorenzo pulled out. Shouldn't they be reported to FIFA for their behaviour?
At least one paper claims that Colo has said that he never wants to play for Newcastle again now. This whole situation is a farce to me. So many theories and not much being said by the club itself. Coloccini signed a long contract and his value has gone up again playing for us. He is a professional and should act like one. Either play the rest of the season or he can buy himself out. Otherwise he can sit and sulk on the bench for all I care.

Now circulating that a threat of legal action plus the value of his existing contract at £7m has given Colo and his representatives something to think about...... Had it been a Club with Money coming in for him I reckon he would be on the plane heading home..... As it is Lorenzo are broke. Shame it's ended this way however as I have said before don't have much sympathy for the player given the circumstances. Needs a good look in the mirror for who has caused this mess. If his heads not right do you risk putting him in the side..... Reading as exhibit one for the prosecution! WL

The case for the defence has been heard and Colo is now staying, at least until the end of the 2012/13 season. He will also remain skipper.... WL

What do you make of the latest revelation in the Colo wants out story... An open letter on the San Lorenzo facebook page alleged to be from the player and signed by him and his agent. Considering the £7m valuation on his contract, the Toon wanting to retain him at least until the summer, NUFC holding his player registration and San Lorenzo having no money to buy him with I reckon he is going nowhere. Thing is given the teams situation can APee afford to leave him on the bench or out of the squad altogether? WL

Somethings are just meant not to be forgotten Seriously tho' - having read the letter in English and assuming Colo is of average footballer intelligence, i somehow doubt that he is capable of scripting such a fluent document. Of course he may have had a legal expert do the job for him but I think it highly unlikely. He would simply be asking the Newcastle fans to get right on his back. History shows that Mackems if nothing else can be pretty good at wind ups. Fatma anybody? The one thing which is disconcerting is that Colo himself has not denied anything yet. Time will show!

Hot off the press - Colo has adressed the letter in a Ronnie interview - Basically it was all a case of "Lost in Translation". Well time to settle down, at least until summer when the window re-opens. I think he'll be off then.

If he helps keep us it the Premiership his reward will be his release from his contract thats if he wants to go. ATB
