How do I get one?

Go to photobucket, pick what you want, copy the img and paste it into the avater box in your profile, then size it at 100x100 and click modify and it should come up. That's how I did mine anyway

There are a several ways to do it depending upon whether you use a URL link, upload from a photo site or possibly from a file on your PC's HD. Not entirely sure whether this forum allows uploads from a PC, but can soon do a few tests although suspect it does as it also has a facility for attachments.

I sent Polly an email on how to do it one way a while back when he had difficulty in achieving that aim on another forum. I shall hunt it out, modify to try and cover other ways then do a cut and paste to post it here.

How to get an Avatar Part 1.

Okay this is IMO probably the most straight forward way to get an Avatar on your profile...................

Open up new tab. Use google search or something similar.

Google Avatars then chose a site from list.........................There are a number to select from however not all are great so I suggest you go with this one or just follow the link below.

Once you find something you like just double click to view. This also takes you to another page with various bits of info etc. to help you with the next stage of process.

From the list below the pic copy the link which gives you the direct route to your chosen image.

The colour here is only to show the link more clearly and will be in normal black txt when you see it for real, but it should look something like this; img1.jurko.net/avatar_3510.jpg

You will need to copy this link. If you are familiar with keyboard short cuts it's a doddle if not use what comes next. Highlight the txt with your mouse (drag cursor along txt until highlighted), then right click to obtain a drop down dialogue box, select copy and job is done. (note; If you are still not sure what to do to achieve that I'll post some additional stuff explaining how. May take a bit of practice but you'll get the hang of it eventually. If all else fails PM me CWL.)

Open up your Profile page. Select Modify Profile.

Paste the copied txt relating to the choosen image back in your members profile in the relevant dialogue box. Now submit change down the bottom of the page under modify profile. The system behind this should return you to the main profile description and hopefully all being well your new Avatar will be visible.

Doing it this way is not constrained regarding file size however the 100 x 100 maximum pixel size could be a factor.

Give it a go and see how you get on........................and above all have fun doing it.
