Just wondering as we enter another transfer period , whether anybody is panicking, and thinking that Fat Mikey is not gonna loosen the purse strings to protect his investment. Its poker time again, and we cant see Mikey's hand.........but he's the eternal gambler ......and my bet is we have to sell to buy........balance the cash.......there will not be more spent than taken in...........but you say...thats not really a gamble for him....... Also, if you think you can read his mind or influence his thoughts.....then I want some of what youre smoking. So panic if you like,.........but as per usual ...theres nothing we can do about it.....just lie back and take it(said the actress to the bishop).

Cracker Polly! As to selling to buy, If we could get at least £12m for Tiote I'd grab it but would want assurances that the money would be spent on new blood. Sorry folks, for me, he's more of a liability these days and contributes very little. Survival now is the name of the game - hope there are three teams still worse than us come May but I fear we are not too good to go down.

Don't know if he misses Johan or if the course of the ship has him dismayed

Too often caught in possession, more often than not passes the ball to an opposition player. Picks up yellow cards for fun - it's us who should be dismayed (and are). Think it's a case of beginning to believe the hype! And to think , we sold Guthrie

Mikey has 28 days to do something that may or may not stop the rot. However as Canny points out bugger all any of us can do except watch it unfold. Gave up panicking about The Toon years ago.....not good for the health! You either support the buggers or try find something else that doesn't cause as much heartache or such pleasure in unequal amounts. The new mantra is.................'Don't mention the R word!' WL

Not panicking - Me - I'm as cool as the proverbial cucumber Simply airing a frustration. Mike is allright Jack and will more than likely comfort any disruption in his 5 year plan with another parachute payment. The 'R' word being Rugby, I assume?

Survival now is the name of the game - hope there are three teams still worse than us come May but I fear we are not too good to go down. Not the same player as last year. Don't know if he misses Johan or if the course of the ship has him dismayed Remember the good ol' days (oh, you know, 13 months ago) when it was rumored that Chelsea wanted Tiote for £20m? If this has taught or reinforced anything, it's always sell high and don't let emotion get in the way of a good business decision...I don't mean to say that Chelsea really was going to pay £20m (note: I'm staying away from saying this should teach us that rumors are rubbish...shame on you if you still aren't aware), but it seemed the typical sentiment among Toon supporters was the promise of outrage should he be sold, even for that obscene amount. There are very few players worth that kind of money in general, let alone when you're operating on a self-imposed shoestring budget. Saying "go ahead and sell" is a lot easier when you have faith that the funds will be reinvested in strengthening the squad (faith that we, in all reality, have no business carrying). Even if full funds aren't reinvested, when they've been "allowed" to bring in players, Carr and Pardew have done a pretty solid job shopping in the Economy section of the store... I'm still not panicked about R, but their run of form is disconcerting, at best. That said, our January offers some sort of hope...once we're humbled again by Brighton on Saturday, the lads will be able to focus on earning some pick-upable points @ Norwich, vs. Reading, @ Villa...maybe we can nab 6 there...I mean, we've got to win away from SJP at some point, right?
