I too have decided for a name change on this auspicious occasion. Blue Star Broon it shall be, but not in reference to that sordid pin business rather the Blue Star that adorns the bottle of my favorite ale and was on the team’s jersey during the Entertainers era, when I began supporting the Mighty Magpies! This all began on a fishing trip, (sorry Fartsie for that reference) with my pal Canny. We were discussing how much easier it was to get news of the Toon on the internet as too when we first met. Canny told me of the forum and said, “listen mate I’m on this board with a bunch of Geordies and other Mag supporters. If you really want good information and what’s really going on in the Toon ya gotta check out this forum”. The rest is history and as my friend 99 has said before it’s an honor and privilege to be a member and as the good Capt M said part of the family. The forum has been an oasis for me and I certainly enjoy the back and forth with all you good people. Football is in my blood and what you have over there simply doesn’t exist in this country. I have been to American football and baseball games here but they don’t sing throughout the game and I have never seen a crowd will they’re team back as when we tied the Gooners 4-4. Simply doesn’t happen over here, amazing stuff. 99 has asked for a picture and I can think of no other so here it is………Broon and Canny or as Leazes Ender nicknamed em the Booze Brothers but more likely come across as Abbott and Costello. Now before Canny gets the chance to refer to me as B S Broon I’ll get it out of the way. I enjoy my Toonie nickname Broon or Broony so let’s keep it at that. 99, you are too kind............I think you missed the "click to enlarge" button. There are plenty of wrinkles on the both of them. And the other disturbing part is the large appendage in Broons midsection. Over here it is often referred to as a "Milwaukee Tumor". Back in it's day Milwaukee was famous for all of it's brewers. So the term Milwaukee Tumor sounds much nicer than what Mrs. Broon calls my "beer gut"  |
