Just wondered if anyone had given any thought about why Danny Simpson was pulled off yesterday and not someone else? It wasn't as if he was any worse than one or two others I could mention. He certainly put a shift in both yesterday and last week against The Mackems. Quite a bit of the time against West Brom being left to cover the whole right flank on his own as Stroller is not exactly the most mobile of players. If he was the scapegoat for our unconvincing team performance up to the point he was withdrawn then I feel for the lad. WL

I can't fathom the gaffers obsession with Gabby. He's ok on European nights but would rather see Sammy than Gabby. He has pace and is much more deft with the ball than Slowla. Also has height for corners.

Contract situation has gone very quiet.... and his current deal is up in June 2013. Not entirely sure if he can sign a pre contract agreement with another Club come January, but if NUFC don't offer something I suspect he can. Danny will never be one of my favourite players, however the thing is the lad is being a good professional just getting his head down and on with the job. Not a lot more you can ask for really. I do wonder though whether he believes he can play for a better team and perhaps he thinks having started at Manure he can play at one of the top four clubs. Can't see it myself...and he may well, like many before him, actually regret leaving should it happen. WL

From a number of reports I have read this morning looks as though Sylvain Marveaux is another player unhappy at not being among the first team squad. Perhaps he should take a leaf out of Simmo's book and just knuckle down and get on with his job. If that means doing it for the stiffs first then so be it. He may have some talent, but as Hatem found out that alone will not guarantee you a starting spot. WL

Contract or no contract he's surely a happy man with his new woman Tulisa. Just hope he doesn't take his eye of the ball now

We need Simmo fit! I read Simmo went to great lengths to get her number. All this when his future is up in the air. I'd like see him get an extended deal. He might not be a top right back and I'm not a huge fan either but he gets the job done somehow (most times).

This current article below seems to point out that our Danny may be a bit of a scumbag........ His girlfriend Stephanie Ward, who is the mother of their 16 month old baby girl Skye, and is said to be pregnant with a second child by Danny, has revealed some things that may point towards what Newcastle’s plans are for Danny Simpson.

Cheating on his wife... I guess he just wants to be like all the other modern footballers.
