Gene Krupa. and Buddy Rich. the best Drummer's i have ever seen on the big screen in the 1950's simply the best. Yeah, I agree there polly, Art Blakey was another great drummer....Billy Cobham, too

I also like the violin although I can't play it very well, here's a fine example. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdYGmPH9fcsI feel this is the ultimate violin concerto. Beethoven displays his sensitive side, whilst Squeezing every bit of power and drama from the orchestra, giving the violinist plenty of opportunity to put their own stamp on it.. Unfortunately Youtube doesn't have the Nigel Kennedy version for the piece. The first time I heard it I was moved to tears.

Yes Jazz, it a wonderful piece of music and Itzhaz Pearlman shows it off in all it's glory. Although he does do a quarter tone slide at one point, but I'm being ultra picky. Great performance.

It amazing how many superb musician come from oriental countries, they must have a different practise ethic that we do. I also think their parents are far more pushy than we are. I like the sound of the mandolin, I've tried playing it but it really difficult.
