New MO brochure being prepared
News fresh from Premier League losers, Manchester United, who have decided to discard the fading talents of former Magpie, Michael Owen.
Not surprising, given that Owen made just one Premier League appearance in the 2011/12 season and that was from the bench at Stoke way back in September.
However, Michael and his team will no doubt be preparing a new PR brochure highlighting his fabulous strike rate for last season which works out at three goals every four games - having scored three times in four games....
But it will probably omit that his strikes came against lower league opposition - Leeds(2) and Aldershot - both in the Carling Cup.
His overall record after three seasons at the Red Devils is 52 appearances (34 as sub), scoring 17 goals. He made just six Premier League starts and one in the FA Cup with the other 11 starts coming in the Carling Cup and Europe.
Owen leaves the Premier League runners-up aged 32, while old codgers, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs have been offered new contracts aged 37 and 38, respectively.
The full list of teams Owen netted against for Manchester United tells its own story (most recent first):
Aldershot, Leeds, Blackpool, Southampton, Bolton, Scunthorpe, Aston Villa, West Ham, Wolfsburg, CSKA Moscow, Barnsley, Man City, Wigan.
Put that in your brochure and smoke it....

The day Michael Owen first stepped out onto the St.James’ Park pitch in 2005, was basically the day he retired. A club he never wanted to come to but who were willing to pay the most money, welcome to the life of Michael Owen. Yes he suffered badly with injuries at Newcastle but we were never left in any doubt that his only focus was on being fit for England, he even admitted afterwards that he should never have gone to that World Cup in 2006 as he wasn’t physically right ;D Attachments:

Hope he rots - but I suspect some idiot will dish up the greens so that the horrible little waster can warm another bench for a year or two whilst loyal fans watch their hard earned money going down the drain. Makes my blood boil!!
