Miserable Kenny Kops it! Former Newcastle manager Kenny Dalglish was jettisoned from Anfield by their American owners on Wednesday after he paid the price for a troubled first full season in charge of Liverpool.
Despite winning a trophy, the Carling Cup success was deemed insufficient to keep Kenny at the helm and a disastrous league season and some calamitous public relations persuaded owner John Henry to relieve Dalglish of his post.
JUST DESSERTS FOR WHAT DAMAGE HE DID HERE

JUST DESSERTS FOR WHAT DAMAGE HE DID HERE Contributing to that in part was the £35m spent on Andy Carroll that saw a return of just four Premier League goals in 2011/12. Nice to think that donating that fee to his former employers contributed to his downfall - some recompense for the millions he threw away on Des Hamilton, Andreas Andersson, George Georgiadis, Stephane Guivarc'h etc. etc. Hopefully the public humiliation dished out during the 2-0 defeat of the Scousers at St. James' Park also helped bring about his demise as the LFC global brand took another bashing. Perhaps more damaging for the USA owners was his appalling media persona, which saw him defend Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan had been found guilty of racial abuse. He also seemed intent on fielding some of the most inoffensive questions with sarcasm and hostility during pre and post match TV interviews - something he mastered in his time on Tyneside.

First team coach Steve Clarke, who was Dalglish's first major appointment on taking charge, has resigned in a show of solidarity with Dalglish.
Lets get Stevie back!

Excellent reporting there son! Were you a professional scribe in a previous life?

Broon....such is the art of cut n' paste... Shame Henry and co sussed Dogleash this quick... Must admit some of those interviews where he talked about Suarez was cringe worthy stuff. Woudn't have Clarke back he had his chance to return and turned it down. Far better now with Steve Stone, Andy Woodman and Willie Donachie. CWL

I think it is a shame he got the sack actually. Would have been fun if he had pulled down Fools further down the drain than he did.
Guess legend status counts for nothing in the end though if you want to keep your job.

Dogleash was always on borrowed time with the Americans in charge...... They have slowly removed just about everyone out over the last year. From what friends across in Liverpool who support The Red Scousers tell me the marketing guy is the only none American in a high profile position. He's now probably clearing his desk as I type this.... CWL
