Every now and again you come across something which not only makes the blood boil, you also struggle to grasp the mentality behind why such an act or event happened in the first place. Such was the desecration of Sir Bobby Robson's memorial next to St James' Park. Something also hard to miss as you went past it on the way up to Gallowgate yesterday. What kind of mind scrawls an obscenity across such a memorial? Whether it was done by visiting fans from Norwich or some disgruntled Mackem or not even anyone remotely interested in the game of football it is still a shocking indictment of someone with a sick mind. Just what possesses someone to do this kind of thing? Have they no respect? Certainly I believe they don't have a conscience as knowing what they did how do they look at themselves in the mirror without feeling remorse for such crass stupidity. The good news is it's been removed. Now I wait to hear whether someone shops the mindless cretin that did it. One can hope, but I will not hold my breath. Mind you if they are caught they better hope they don't live in this region as their lives could become a living hell. Now that would be a fitting kind of justice far better than any fine! CWL  |

Yes, must agree CWL. It does make you wonder about the mentality of some people, they are cut from the same cloth as those morons who steal the metal from war memorials!!

Having lived in Suffolk for many years, and witnessed the Ipswich/Norwich rivalry......its too much of a coincidence for it not to be Norwich supporters...........Sir Bobby's memory will last with Toon and Swich supporters long after these toerags have met their deserved untimely ends.
