Ok time fer a swim. Don’t believe in being lucky, believe you make your own. Who back in August would have predicted this? Not many here I’ll bet. Nolan gone, Enrique gone, Barton soon to follow and no replacement for Carroll. Back then it was here we go again, keep on keeping on and another year in the drop zone. What a delightful surprise this has been. Man I can’t wait till the Spuds match to see how we match up now with the new #9. Looking down at the Gooners and Reds this time of year is alright, something we’ve not been used to. And I get a real hoot reading the how the so called experts say we’re the most misplaced team in the tables, ha. This team EARNED they’re spot by getting those points one way or another. If some people don’t like the style of footie they’re playing get over yerself. You wanna see a bagfull of goals watch the fizzypop league.

In any game/sport there is likely to be an element of luck it can never be ruled out. Ashley has few friends in business circles, he is his own man with his view on how his business will run. If he is sticking rigidly true to his business ethic with NUFC (which includes his 5 year plan of course)then you could say the ship is on course to deliver not only to break even but also to deliver more consistant results. I am not a fan either but if it works he will get the plaudits due to him. If he were to back down on the renaming rights he would benefit from that it would be a massive step in the right direction. We all hate Ashley but I don't believe he has all the luck you give him credit for. There are stories of him squandering thousands at the roulette tables. Even though he steers his ship with an iron hand as far as economics and player dealings are concerned, I don't believe he picks the team or has any hand at all in the playing side of the business. In most of the games I've seen this season the lads have worked themselves into the ground for the shirt. You'll never hear me complaining on that score. I wrote that they were extremely lucky against QPR at the beginning of the season and I stand by that still - The defence worked overtime and SWP murdered Raylor but the lad has improved greatly since then. He is one of many - I firmly believe that almost every single fist team player has improved during the course of the season. Add to that some of the dodgy referee decisions and you'll find that not too much luck comes into the equation. Yes we've had some clearances off the line and yes our keeper has been man of the match on some occasions but isn't that a part of the game? Consider yourself shot my friend. Had it been nearer Christmas I would have bought a new tin hat for you myself

I tend to think of him as just another unsavoury character who is someone you would not want to associate with at any time. The Keegan debacle showed what he is about. There is no team in any league that has not had its share of luck,(or misfortune) the weather, referees, the pitch, the play, the players themselves all can have the ability to affect a result mostly with skill, but a deflection, a cross come shot, a mis-hit shot, a greasy pitch, a wrong decision, a gust of wind, a mis-timed tackle etc..... Granted Capt. Hate is perhaps a strong word considering I've never met the man. Put it this way I dislike intensely most of how he has treated NUFC. Pity is, it his playtoy to do as he likes with.
As to the second part of your statement and if Canny is correct, there are four other teams who have had more luck than us.
