I remember the days when you could go to a pub in Bolton and get a pint a pie and a woman for £1.
That's all well and good, but they didn't say what make the pie was.

As far as I'm aware its genuine Milkhope  Supposedly from the 50's.Its strange looking back to think that even in this country being gay wasnt decriminalised until 1967. |

Way back when I'd just started going out to Ncle. pubs.....I was about 17, 1962....there was a pub called "The Golden Tiger" at the bottom of Pilgrim Street, it was down an alleyway. Anyway we had heard that it was a haunt of p..fs & q....s. We were pretty naive & must have thought that this place was one step away from "burning in hell"! I swear that we even crossed to the other side of the road when passing it!  |

Things have come a long way since the 50's especially in Manchester. Lots of straight people go to "The Village" as they've the best clubs and no trouble. www.canal-st.co.uk |
