The Villa fans have every right to be upset they didn't leave without a point. They had some superb chances in the first 30 mins and had it not been for the excellent Krul they could and should of had the lead. Then of course the ball falls kindly to BA thanks to Ryan Taylor risking a broken leg seeing the challenge from Warnock. Of course the equalizer was well deserved from my man of the match Robbie Keane who showed the NUFC forwards what movement and clever play is all about. Then Cisse hit a goal which lets be honest won't ever happen again. That was a once in a lifetime goal. And for it to beat the worlds greatest keeper in the world (Shay Given) it had to be something special. We were lucky...yet again! Quite similar to the Blackburn victory where we, 1) Scored a lucky deflected own goal 2) Had Krul save a penalty 3) Defended all match 4) Hit them on the counter at the end. Aston Villa 1) Krul making a few top class saves 2) BA scoring goal after ball kindly falling for him 3) Cisse hitting a wonder goal 4) More defending!!!!! So all in all it was quite a fortunate day for the toon and for the manager as he enjoys his extended purple patch of form. AP still persists with Perch instead of Arfa, who is our most talented and creative attacking player. Most fans will be happy with the 3 points stating "results over performance" (I know that argument). However, for me that just smacks of being desperate for success and compromising on our values and culture by accepting our cockney owner and his puppet Pardew! Ooops! The point being. I assume, that the Villa fans did leave without a point. Possession Newcastle 51% Villa 49% Shots Toon 16 Villa 13 Shots On target Newcastle 8 Villa 8 Corners Newcastle 4 Villa 4 Final score Newcastle 2 - 1 Villa From BBC All in all a fortunate day for the Toon? - Horlicks Magpie

CWL - It's Krul good saves and some fantastic defending that is making us look good. And don't forget Colocini was one of the players not too long ago whom many fans criticized? Now suddenly these guys become heroes all because of of a good run! Remember a lot of folk didn't like AP as well? ... Desperate and now fickle. Not saying you CWL as we haven't spoken in along time but I know what a lot of our fickle NUFC fans think. Canny, CWL - Yes we are mental and passionate to the core but we ain't mugs. We are knowledgeable and know our football. Tell me guys how come we have forgotten all that the fat b#####dAshley did to us? Do you not forget your hatred towards him? Keegan!... Robbing us of our money! Not communicating to us!.... These things can't be forgotten. If you have put in the side burner because of the temporary good results then you are only being fools and letting Ashley win. He must be laughing his ass off at all of you buying into this! Well I ain't coming to SJP any time soon. I come after he goes Ashley has played the fans so well. Take a moment think of what I'm saying .... Polly - I'm very much on the bright side of life I didn't pay attention to Canny's proposed theory as it only came across as something borne out of his own life experience. I didn't want to intrude on that and I'll let him deal with that himself (out of respect). If anything I have my head firmly on my shoulders and thinking more clear than I ever have. I am enjoying our success but reluctantly because of the jokers in charge at the top controlling a clown in charge of the team. Every successful team I know of has been built from the back four onwards and after years of trying Newcastle now have a defence worthy of the name and are you finding that unacceptable?..............If so why? All football fans can be fickle at one time or another or are you putting yourself above that aspect as well now? Also no player is above criticism including Colo however by the same token praise and credit are also due when it's fully deserved. Personally I thought individually he had an ordinary game on Sunday and below the standards he has set himself this season. That said as skipper he stuck to the task and made sure his colleagues did the same which resulted in a hard earned victory. I disagree with what you have written about why Colo is regarded by many Toon fans as a hero. It's certainly not just for the recent run but the work he has put in since he first arrived. Having gone from looking a complete flop and waste of money in his first season to now captaining the side. On top of that he has just received a top honour from the North East Football Writers Association. They possibly know a thing or two about the game and duly crowned Colo Player of the Year, following in the footsteps of such Newcastle greats as Peter Beardsley, Alan Shearer and Shay Given. That's why he is held in such high esteem by many Toon supporters. I agree with you, far more supporters probably hated Pardew when he arrived than welcomed him with open arms. Simply because of his association with our Owner and his right hand man Lambsarse. You even went out of your way to defend the guy FFS! when practically everyone else was baying for blood. The thing is Pardew has turned many of those who were vehemently against him into believers. Not by accident, but through learning from his mistakes, working hard and building a team which supporters again can take pride in. All of which has gained him a good degree of respect from members of the Toon Army. Although I acknowledge you are entitled to be an exception yet why such a big turnaround in viewpoint since Christmas? It's almost like he had murdered your favourite pet or had an illicit affair with your girlfriend. I would be gob smacked if anyone on here had forgotten what our most benevolent owner has done during his tenure in charge. No need for the history lesson, but understand why it was given. Can't speak for others, but I would probably answer No to just about everything in that particular paragraph. As for it being some kind of competition between myself and Mikey with NUFC as the prize, you are way off the mark. Ironically I can actually truthfully say as far as NUFC goes we are in it together, although our reasons for doing so are also probably light years apart. Whether he is laughing at me and/or others I have no idea. I don't even know the guy and have never ever met him face to face. At best for me he is nothing more than a necessary evil when it comes to NUFC. Temporarily there to ensure it continues to exist for other generations of Geordie's and Toon supporters to take what joy they can from it. I attend for my reasons just as you stay away for yours. No conflict there for me just acceptance. Capt'n M put it far more succinctly than I have above, but just want everyone to know my thoughts on this situation. I pretty much believe you have dug yourself into a hole Magpie and don't know how to get out of it or are reluctant to swallow your pride and simply say you got it wrong on this occasion. CWL

I did have that life experience.....difference being I admitted it then and moved on........no shame in admitting it publicly and the forgetting it and moving on.........you should try it son......if this forum is a reflection of your current life, I am truly sorry for you, as you will end up alone, bitter and sad. Just a couple of quotes from this forum to make you think................Cannyman ......."sad...sad....sad....Miss the old Magpie." Polly.............."I just wish we had the old magpie back." Your negative karmas sadly reflect your esteem on here......its up to you man........
