Have been meaning to get some of my pictures up here to share my great day at St. James Park! This was taken at the half. Canny was putting in his order fer 2 pies, after trying, unsuccessfully to nick a pie off the lad in front of him. Fairsy is lookin across the pitch towards the owners box trying to ascertain what the "Cockney Mafia" was dining on.  Is Canny standing up? CWL  |

CWL Lets reopen this bugger.............Canny made it to Pa........to visit Mrs. Broon....who is doing fine reet now and yes invade Waldos with Broon! It's 2 am somthin and the taxi got us home alreet. A full session repot may follow ina day er 2 dependin upon me heed. Have a setlist on me blacberry of the song list............... |

Hope you've got the video as well No video..........did get a pic on me Blackberry of the "little waster" singin I can put up later when me heed stops throbbing. I got up this am and he was already downstairs having coffee with Mrs Broon, bright and chipper. And me got the metro roaring thru me heed. I don't know how he does it but the again he's quite a bit older than me so he's had more practice. |

Ok shipmates in keeping with tradition, a pre season training was held at the now famous Waldo’s, Scranton Pa. Cannyman arrived at Broon’s for a somewhat emotional visit but never the less a much needed reunion. Bearing gifts and his usual beautiful bouquet of flowers fer Mrs. Broon our home was once again uplifted by his unique sense of humor, comradely and stories from our trip to the Toon. In addition our son, let’s call him Broon Jr. has returned from his home in Hawaii to help oot around the house and visit his mom. Canny has not seen Broon Jr. in many years now but back when Canny lived in Pa he coached Jr. in youth league footie. Canny started calling Jr. Rick Wakeman fer the long blond hair Jr. now sports. A pre training cookout was enjoyed by all and then it was off to Waldo’s fer Broon and Canny lovers of song, drink and all things Toon related. I wish I could report events of Canny chasing young dickheads about or watering lightpoles even snuggling obese women but that was not the case. Well there was one lass but she’s actually quite nice. She runs the Karaoke machine and request book. Canny is somewhat of a regular and truth be told one of the better singers so she’s always glad to see him. When his turn comes up she always announces , “direct from Newcastle England” it’s………….I am glad when it is his turn because some of the others are downright horrible and I’m getting some notoriety fer being his wingman. Canny’s Setlist included: Locomotive Breath – Jethro Tull It’s a Great Day to be Alive – Travis Tritt With or Without You – U2 Early on in the session before we started drinking shots there was a discussion about the people I met from the forum on my trip over. I was having a hard time wrapping my head around how easy it was fer me to get on with people I’ve never met. Yeah we post stuff back and forth and have a few laughs but when you think about it we are all from the corners of the world……..kind of mind boggling. Canny explained it to me saying that people from the Toon are on the same longitudinal plane as northeast Pennsylvania. Canny has lived in Miami, Georgia and Pennsylvania and say’s people in Northeast Pa are very similar to people from Newcastle. Hard working, honest, generous and know how to live life. Canny can be brilliant at times…………when he’s not trying to nick pie’s off people at a match er calling a women a “dodgie cow” when she cuts him off in traffic. He is of course my mentor and best mate. The rest of the night gets a bit blurry, but I do remember Canny questioning the taxi driver on why there was a surcharge because our destination was outside the city limits. Apparently the cabbies take advantage of drinkers leaving pubs after 2am. As usual Canny was up early the next day bright and chipper. Having read his last post I now know his secret, It appears Canny’s trip over was not to see his mam, not to see Newcastle play Citeh, not to introduce Broon to the Toon, rather re-up his supply of Paracodol fer Karaoke nights!
