On my travels today I spotted a Water Vole in Wallsend's Richardson Dees Park. It was swimming across "The Burn" which runs through the park and then moved along the muddy bank quite oblivious to me. At first I thought it was a Brown Rat but on checking websites it was definitely a Water Vole.....the "blunt" nose gave it away among other things.
