(Donning tin helmet) In playing football roullette a la Toon with the fatman every season, it never fails to amaze me how optimistic I can be. No matter how many times I'm kicked in the balls by this plank I keep coming back for more. The only thing that keeps things in perspective is that over here we have an even bigger plank with an even bigger ego, who is going to change the American way of life as we know it to near Nazism. Its effect is and will be worldy my friends...god save the children if the muti national, islamic, Hawaiin is re-elected(cant use his name without spitting) Anyhoo.....imagine the scenario....youve finally clawed back every penny you put into your investment,,, the decks are clear....dont think football ...think cash. Youve virtually no high earners left, all good players on long contracts and average money......so now its time to play roullette Who can you cash in on ?, cause you need the readies to play. How close can you cut so that you finish the EPL in 17th place? January will follow the usual pattern....buy cheap youngsters first, see the Geordies eyes light up.....Mike's changed ...he's with us now. Then right at the end of the window, fly up his first and second helicopter(got you there right....trappings of a high powered team owner), and hey presto we lose Tiote, Colo and Cabaye........now come on its too late for us to replace these good players ...right? Pardupe wil impale himself on his ceremonial sword again and live through the injury with his gambling debt reduced as payment.
I now retire to private life, sadder but wiser.................till next time.

Some have known all along, some have realised along the way, but there is still a long way to go for most..... ATB

I see we are to have "Virgin Money" on the shirts, pity Sir Richard didn't buy the whole lot off fatso!!! Maybe it should read "Virgin too tight to spend Money" on it instead!

Its not just fatso who irritates though, or Llambastic, its the attitude Pardew shows, as if he is totally committed to whatever Ashley throws his way. Its the fact that he is willing to put up with any player/s being sold at any window even if it will badly affect any progress the team has made or is likely to make. Beating Man U. Was great, but is it just about winning a few high profile games and finishing out of the relegation area or what? ATB

Capt'n M I can understand where you are coming from regarding APee but I guess you have too look at it a bit from his side as well. Plenty of potential employers will have seen what he has and is achieving at Newcastle. I'm of an opinion that at some point he will decide he no longers wants to simply accept what he is given but will make demands. The same goes for Carver, Stone, Carr and possibly one or two others currently involved at The Toon. As professionals in the game they will all want to be challenging for trophies. If Mikey is not prepared to back them in doing that IMO they will eventually move to somewhere or someone that will. CWL

CWL I can see where your coming from, Pardew is slowly building his reputation as an astute Manager who has with constraints put together a decent team. That of course cannot be doing him any harm although, has he had any input into who has been brought in? May be Ba, possibly? I tend to think he is in the same position as Keegan found himself in (and Hughton) he is not Managing as we know it, he is a Manager in name only. ATB

Jumping on the bandwagon, i have to admit that Pardew (earlier Pardupe) is coming up trumps. Having now sorted out his tactics and game plans, obviously installing spirit in the dressing room (it was there earlier but there are new players now) he must now, in my opinion make a stance against the dastardly duo and prove to the supporters that his heart is with the club. I'm beginning to believe it is but that gambling debt must be pretty much repaid by now and as others have pointed out, professionals have their pride.

I feel sorry for AP, he has to do as he's told or he'll be off!! I once had a boss like fatso, my way or no way!! There is sod all you can do unless you leave. Ashley is the sort of person that can see no further than making money in any way he can, and he has quite a few "assets" on the field that will bring in the cash! Unlike Abromovitch (sp!) who does seem to care about where Chelsea land in the league, our owner doesn't, so long as he makes money! Ba is "cooking" very nicely, I wonder how long it will be before he's sold? If Ashley does decide to sell, there really isn't anything AP can do about it!! Yes, he can rant and rave on the telly, but how long will he keep his job if he does? I don't think anyone wants to go back to having a different manager every other week!!!! I don't think it's coincidence that Man U are so successful, with AF being there for 25 years, and owners that have always let him "get on with it" without interference!!Ashley is very short sighted, but we've known that since he came here, let's just hope that his "business empire" doesn't suffer too much in the recession, otherwise we'll have no flamin' team, he'd have sold them all to keep his tatty shops open!!!
