I've read some of the websites, and what they want is great, and I do agree with them, but although they say what they want, they don't actually say (unless I've missed it!) how it will be achieved

Whoa - Ann. Rome wasn't built in a day. This is an embryo movement. Nothing like it has ever been seen before. With a little luck and a lot of effort it can be achieved - but everyone needs to stand strong in their belief in the movement. Nothing of this magnitude ever has - or ever will - be changed overnight. But it has started. In the USA people have made a "Run" on the banks and are transferring their cash from High Street banks to community "Credit Unions". The banks are panicking and shutting down ATM's and monitoring the transfers. What does that suggest? The "Fat-Cats" are taking notice. Thats what! And so must governments. Looking through the "Occupy" movements I notice that in London the "Occupiers" at LSX marched to Parliament Square. Huh you need a permit to do that apparently. What did the police do in the face of such a blatent offencce against the law? They apparently "Kettled" them for a while and then let the protesters go!!!!! according to reports we are receiving. It is beginning to take effect. Support them. As I said get your dusty protest gear out and join in.

Although be careful what you with for you might get it, and could be replace by something worse. Over throwing evil dictators is far easier than first world democracies. However I am in favour of the banning of "kettling" how happens to kettles? they boil over!!!

:)G'day - Jazz Yeah man that's more or less what they are campaigning for, Stay strong bro' - sister. Clearing yur mind is exactly the way to look at it. What people need to realise is that we are the powerful ones. We are the majority. We the "ordinary" people. We have seen across the world how the people can overthrow governments. You have got to think outside of the norm. Each time we say that making a stand isn't worth it , because it will never work, then we are giving up without even trying. The Establishment is only in power because we let it be. We allow it to rule. The more people who make a stand, will allow others to stand up also. Its like people saying they are not going to strike this month. They say it wont change anything. It may not this time, but it will make sure the voice of the people is heard. It shows we ain't just gonna bend over and take it. It makes me sad that people at work are already asking what the working arrangements are for the strike day. I'm more sad for them than angry. Well paid people who wont give up one days pay to make a stand for others. When I point out that I will be giving up a days pay on their behalf, they just say "what is the point?" How do you explain the point to people with no sense of injustice in their heads, no sense of unity for all workers. They should be ashamed when people on much less pay than them are will ing to do it. I feel the same about people asking what is the point with the occupy protesters. If they cant see the f-ing point then they never will. The small group at Monument, may be a minority, but they are there to represent the majority. Thats all the rest of us people. Last night when I stood there for a while just to listen and to show support, there were lots of people stopping and taking an interest, and if they are at least raising awareness then they are doing something worthwhile.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT Jon, a Coalition of Resistance activist, is at the Monument round the clock and is helping get the message out. He requests the following: "Please show your support by visiting the occupation - everyone who is camped here appreciates people coming along and talking with us, expressing support and so on. We've had a great response from the public, with lots of people stopping and asking us questions, discussing the issues. Even if you only have 10 minutes to spare, please stop by!" 1. You can also send messages of support to this email address - cornortheast@gmail.com - and we will pass them on. 2. We encourage you to post messages of support & solidarity via the facebook groups for Occupy Newcastle: goo.gl/0bmAE or here: goo.gl/3Cvya3. Visit the website: occupynewcastle.org/4. You can contact the Occupy Newcastle group via Twitter too: twitter.com/#!/OccupyNewcastle 5. Photos here: www.demotix.com/news/881817/anti-capitalist-protesters-continue-rally-newcastle-upon-tyne

I don't think it's a pipe dream Milky, I think it's "doable" - providing everyone pulls together!! That is the thing I'm skeptical about!!! As bansh says, some won't even give up a day's pay by striking, even when it's in their own soddin' interests!!! We've got no chance of those type of people joining in!! And there are a lot of them, unfortunately!!

Yo - Bansh - Dependable as ever. Once an activist always.....you do us proud. Hey - Jazz - respect mate. Go and speak to them. They are united in this protest. It is probably the only time I know of since 1968 that we have had a voice. We are the 99%.We fu*ked it then - 1968 - "Summer of Love" - please don't let this opportunity pass us by now. I honestly never thought in my lifetime I'd see an opportunity to take back from the 1% that belongs to us. Bansh - Shadz - Ann - etc know the score. They have been there and done the sh*t - and got the "T" shirt. Borrow it from them and do your bit. Distribute the message any way you can. We are not alone ' cos we are THE 99%Milk - join us. It's what you want for the generations to come. Deep down you know it. Peace - love - harmony - to you all.
