You've got a lovely day for the meet Folks  I will be there in spirit if not in body......I've promised to make a traditional Sunday lunch for my brother, (he said they arent the same in America), still got my wine chilling in the fridge though. Anyway, have fun boys n girls xxxx ;D |

I never made it!!!  The soddin' Metros weren't running from North Shields to S Gosforth, I had heard about it but forgot!  So after the match, we went down to the Metro, saw the thing saying no trains, and (this is where it gets ridiculous!!!  ) waited outside the station for the bus replacement! And waited........and waited........... Saw some Metro staff and they said the bus doesn't go from outside the station!! What? Why the hell not, it's the obvious place!!!!!! And our best bet was to get a bus to N Shields and get the Metro from there, as the bus replacement would go round every Metro stop!!! So.............coming up from the Metro to catch the No 1 (it was now about 2.30!) we saw the bus sailing past!!!! This was getting from bad to worse, as I knew the next bus didn't go till 2.53. Then we'd have to wait for a Metro, then walk down from Monument, so it would have been about 4 o'clock before we got there. I was in a bloody temper by now, so we came home!!! But why the hell does the bus replacement not go from outside the station??? There is a bus stop outside Tynemouth Station, so I just naturally thought that's where you caught it!!!! But no, in their wisdom they decided that it would go from Manor Rd (by the War Memorial) So people had to go to the station to buy their ticket as normal, then walk back to Manor rd to catch the bus!!! Bloody senseless!!  P.S. I'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves Where did you end up, the Forth? We thought it would have been a tad chilly

it was quiet , they have put new covering on the seats and fixed the roof at the Forth but they still dont sell Blue WKD . |
