TBH shads, I didn't know Holly and Jessicas' parents had written books. Maybe that is the difference, the McCanns are "in your face" whereas the others are not. Plus what gets up my nose is, not the same effort is being put into other kids that go missing. No friends in high places perhaps?

It was Hollys dad that did the book-Jessicas parents didnt Ann. Perhaps it is a case of friends in high places but if I was in the same situation I think I'd pull the same strings

I was discussing this suject at work recently. Despite any criticism from all sides, it was surprising the numer of people who all admitted that they acted differenty on holiday than they would at home, and admitted to leaving their kids while they went for a meal. Hindsight is a great thing, but it doesnt change what happened. The real issue is, where is Maddie? Blame cant help the search for her. She has to e toe somewhere. There has to be an expalantion. We should focus on that, and put aside our persoal views about blame.

Talking of that-Ben Needham went missing during a familly holiday visiting relatives, ditto Sarah.Holly and Jessica during school holidays whilst a familly barbeque was taking place.
I think thats a good point.During these occasions people are more relaxed and I think the guard does go down.
When I was young it wasnt uncommon for my parents to pop over to a neighbours party at Christmas time when we were asleep.Just over the road and they kept popping in.Nothing bad ever happened.
