What is it with woman and tattoo's, once the domain of the mail, usually ex Army or Navy and frowned upon by Society. Now we see woman literally covered in what can only be called graffiti, except this time its on the female form. I wonder what society will think of the tattooed form in years to come.

I suppose it a fashion thing, but the thing is with fashion it changes but tattoo's are permanent. No harm I suppose as long as the spellings correct!

I don't like tattoos either. My father (ex-army WW11) had them and I hated looking at them. Now my son has them down both arms and though I must admit they are a a form of art - I still hate them

There once was time when it was only a "man's domain" to do a number of things, e.g: to have the vote; to own property; to have a career; to be an MP, etc etc. Thankfully times have changed and women are at least allowed to make the same choices as men.
Incidentally women having tattoos is not that new. My Nan was born in the 1880's. She had a tattoo on each forearm. It wasn't that unusual then. My dad told us that a lot of his aunties and Nan's friends all had tattoos.

As it happens, I have been married 42 years on May 3, I courted my Wife 8 years before we married. As ex Merchant Navy, I got a tattoo in Australia when on my first trip and regretted it for the rest of my life. My Cousin had his girlfriends name tattooed on his arm when in America (also ex Merchant Navy) only to find she had married on his return. As for your input Banshee, my Gran, also from Ireland had the name of my Grandfather tattooed on her arm when he went off to fight in the Boar War, she was also born in the 1800's, but that is nothing to the trend of today's tattoos, having worked on Building Sites all over the Country, I have rarely seen any building workers with such defaced bodies as I see today on young and older woman. It will be interesting to see what peoples attitudes to such defacement will be in years to come.As for being rare, well one can only guess that you are Common.

And it took you three postings to say nothing, drunk or sober, it would appear you have little to contribute, although what makes you think that I have not had more than my fair share of woman before settling down. The secret of a happy marriage is respect and to remain faithful, there are no points to be won in sleeping around, other than sexually transmitted diseases. I also assume that you are one who has defaced his body with tattoo's to attract such a attack!!!!
