I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Shads. For once, this year our MOT was trouble free...I couldn't believe my ears when he said it! "Thank you sir, thank you sir!" said I, beating a hasty, groveling retreat before he changed his mind! Hope all "goes" well!

Aye, but what he's not telling you is, prior to that, we had to have a new clutch and new tyres!!!

What gets me Ann is that last year it failed owing to apparently having two holes in the exhaust on either side of the cat converter.I paid for the mechanic to bodge it with putty to get it through the MOT. This year it was that I was worried about but it was barely mentioned-just minor leak in the advice section Just happy I can breath easy again tonight

as my last Mot was cost free apart from paying for the Mot im sure this time i wont be so lucky, i think one of my wheel bearings is on it's way out, got that strange humming noise, it's Mot is not due till July but i always put it in a month before so if it's going to cost anything it gives me a month to get the cash together, ive already started putting cash in an Mot jar, if im lucky and it's cheaper than what i manage to save the extra will go towards my Japan trip fund, if im unlucky i may have to take money out of my Japan trip fund keeping my fingers crossed.

got my cars MOT done on Thursday, not too bad it needed a new ball joint on the front and because of this the tracking had to be done all together that cost £88.54, mind the total bill came to £270 but that was because of the price of the MOT and i got a Gold service done, i got an advisory for the front tyres but they are still within the legal limit but ill get them changed soon and that will be that done for another year, on the plus side my insurance is cheaper this year .

Service does cost a canny bit-I had a partial one done last year and that cost more than the MOT and repairs combined. Makes me wish I'd kept with the mechanics course I did about twenty years back-got as far as spark plugs then lost interest

could have done the service myself and i know how to reset the service light in my car, but the changing of the oil and fuel filter can be a bit messy and i would have a bad back afterwards, plus i get my service book signed so far it has a full service history, it's a good thing to have if i decide to sell it.
