And yet some are still convinced this man is good for our club and that he is doing a decent job. Confounds me

There are times when I think a small devil sits on my shoulder prompting me to do things which are otherwise out of character. Yesterday was one such occasion.................the place, one of NUFC's stores............the item under discussion, the new shirt. It kind of went downhill very quickly after I enquired how to obtain one................the answer I received was along the lines of putting my name down on a pre-order list, but as I actually had no intention of buying a shirt, that is almost irrelevant compared to some of the other stuff which followed. How much does it cost..............err! I'll have to check was the reply............. Next up...............Why doesn't the shirt not have a gold badge like that on the official Club web site?................err! I'll have to check was the reply..............followed quickly by I think that is only the team strip..............err! I'll have to check! Next up...................you might be able to have one with the gold badge, just leave your name with us..................... Okay that sounds good.......................will it be the same price? Err! I'll have to check! By now my wife had walked away chuckling......................well I think she was chuckling it could have been a snigger, I'll have to check! The only thing I can say positively is that I had an opportunity to have a decent look at the new shirt. I have somewhat revised my opinion in that it is not so much awful, it's just not what I would consider a typical Toon shirt. The design is not that great IMO with the front almost looking like a B&W version of the St George cross along with with a large black panel on the back. Stripes it most certainly is not............which even the previous shirt could claim to have. Probably still not stop the faithful from buying them in their thousands................. although this is one supporter who will not be acquiring it. Now wondering which of Toffs Newcastle offerings I may purchase before next season starts..................... Oh! and if you happen to be in a position to visit an NUFC outlet in the next few days I can recommend enquiring about obtaining a new shirt. The whole experience lifted my spirits no end yesterday although perhaps not quite in the way I had intended. CWL

Ashley could claim the strip signifies NUFC "in the black" whilst others, myself included, will say it is a sign of things to come.............

This strip is a SHOCKER ! Two measly white stripes and only ONE black one for crying out loud !
I sent PUMA an email to tell them exactly what I thought of the design but didn't received a reply. I think the rather colourful language might have had something to do with that ! ;D

I'm glad I don't have to break my vow never to buy a puma shirt. For a second I was worried that they might do a nice one!
