We hear constantly from the trio's mouthpiece that our scouts are scouring Europe for available talent. If we are to believe our local rag (which I don't) then it looks as if Carlton Cole (also known as Can't Control) may very well be on his way to SJP. Seems we wasted a lot of air fares. Isn't it great supporting a team with ambition?

For all the propaganda about financial prudence at The Toon it appears the dynamic duo can still cock it up big time when it suits them. Take the sorry state of affairs involving Sol Campbell and the end of his contract.............. Having agreed to paying an obscene amount of money in the first place (£40,000 a week?) on another gamble. The Club are now disappointed that Sol is sticking to his guns and wants paying up in full.............to the tune of £160,000 as his contract comes to an end in July. How ironic..............I wonder if that will come off the £35m they got for Carroll? CWL

It will probably reduce the sum with £10m just to be safe.... that should leave him with.... £5m?

Pardupe claims Carlton Cole is no longer on the club radar. Does that mean he's coming then?

Pardupe`s latest non-statement/winge, "we cant match the big clubs wages" should have read wont match the big clubs wages. Now if we are that hard up we are really going to struggle matching Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton, Mackems, etc........... So what does the future hold for the fans of NUFC? Players on significantly lower wages than the top six means one thing, struggle on the pitch and also struggle to hold onto decent players, it is so depressing. I understand that wages must be controlled, but that is not enough for Ashley, he is using NUFC as a shop window, a nursery club for others to benefit. Sooner or later the grand plan is going to come unstuck I hope it is sooner rather than later. ATB

Other owners have understood it. Why can't Mashley? INVESTMENT IN TEAM = SPORTING SUCCESS = CASH IN BANK = INVESTMENT IN TEAM = SPORTING SUCCESS = CASH IN BANK = INVESTMENT IN TEAM = SPORTING SUCCESS = CASH IN BANK = INVESTMENT IN TEAM = SPORTING SUCCESS = CASH IN BANK ....... Simple
