i hate Energy saving bulbs, my eyes seem to see thing others dont and energy saving light bulbs to me are not constant light, they seem to flash at a very high speed not visible to everyone but they are to me and they give me a bad head, nothing can beat my good old 150 watt buld , i may need sunglasses when i turn the light on but at least i dont get a headache.

I've heard other peple say that they get headaches when they use the Energy bulbs, they don't seem to bother me I'm pleased to say, are'nt they trying to get rid of the other lightbulbs.

I'm waiting for Gateshead council to come and repair five upstairs light fittings-no joke. The weight of the bulbs has knackered them. The little bracket things that hold the bulbs are snapped. Two have normal bulbs in right now literally hanging on by one bracket-and in two bedrooms I had to get cheap standing lamps from homebase to get us through With normal bulbs

I've got the energy saving ones in every socket - apart from my Lava Lamp and a glass lamp, cannot get ones that fit them!! I find them fine. The one in the hall is a bit slow on the uptake but otherwise I find them OK. I have heard people say they get headaches with them though. I've got loads of the "old style" ones, screw as well as bayonet!!!

I prefer the un-energy bulbs as well sometime you feel you've in Romania. I also have a cupboard full of free ones, wish they'd send me some of the old type.

i its those high quality parts Gateshead council used when they done the bodge ups im mean modernisations , ive changed the kitchen taps, the bath taps, and the sink in the bathroom taps, they all knacked up i could have asked the council to replace them but i hated the council crappy ones, no mixer tap in the kitchen so thats what i replaced them with and in the bathroom mixer with shower attached, the taps on the sink in the downstair loo are still ok but the council did not replace these ones when they done there bodge up modernisations they are original from when the house was built, and the combi boilers they fitted they must have been a shipload of dodgy rejects ive yet to meet someone who has not had a problem with theirs.

Had em out four times now for the combi boiler. It was put in four years ago just before we moved in.And also various radiator leaks-wont mention the back door replacement fiasco-doors falling off the hinges ,and my brand spanking new sink slowly sliding down the wall as the fittings give way. And our homes were some of those apparently improved

yep the top quality kithcens they fitted, bench tops going banana shaped and falling away from the walls and some of the door edgings taking a shape of their own, only four times for your combi boiler you must have got one of the good ones could times that number by about 10 for ours, were still waiting for the new front doors we were promised over 4 years ago and the double glazing we were told we would have by 2010.

Skint, you pay top money for "banana shaped bench tops"! ;D
