I was thinking about how some humans strive for perfection looks wise and are willing to do almost anything to achieve it but for me true beauty is all around us and I dont believe that anything can improve on nature. For me horse like this Or a flower like this Or a sunset like this inspire such a sense of wonder that sometimes its just overwhelming

I just love trees................. Always taking photos of them wherever I go, home or abroad. This is not one of mine, but would have been very pleased had it been........... CWL

CWL-there used to be an Oak tree in Beamish near the Hall that was spectacular.I used to ride horses up there thirty years back now and it was along a Bridle path-never ever forgotten it even tho I was only fifteen at the time. Its probably still there.Up until recently I used to visit Beamish quite regularly but by a different route-as in driving

Sometimes you look at how almost everything seems so perfectly designed to fit into its natural habitat then you look at us with our oversized boots trying to make everything fit around us.GM crops, clones, factory farms, bloodsports, plastic in your boobs or your lips-my god-it can be depressing to think about what we do sometimes Nature can be cruel-but I think sometimes we close our eyes to how cruel we are too.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition, They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins, They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God, Not one is dissatisfied, not one is demented with the mania of owning things, Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago, Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth
Think this is a good poem by Walt Whitman, the American poet....about animals....apologies to anyone with religious beliefs of course.

We bought 48 small mixed Petunia plants today at Tescos (where else!) for £5.....a bargain, as later, when the plants are bigger they'll cost a lot more. Petunias last a long time, right through the Summer (if we have one!) Attachments:
