What I have a problem with is, if you can opt out after a year, what benefit is there for Ashley??? I can't see him doing anything without a bottom line - I just can't see what it is at the min #smilies# Maybe he's doing it for the fans (Canny's tin hat on )

I can't see him doing anything without a bottom line - I just can't see what it is at the min The benefit to him is that he can then calculate potential revenues for the next ten years based upon those that commit to this offer. He can play around with all sorts of different scenarios including percentage take up or decline in take up year on year. That allows him to look at other ways of either making more profit or mitigating potential losses with other revenue streams. To be honest IMO it's a very astute move. CWL

Me too. ;D Seems to me Ashley's 5 year plan just turned into Ashley's 10 year plan. What appears to be less ticket revenues means that income will definitly now come from selling players. If something looks too good to be true it usually is.

Fairsy it may well turn out that way, although it has to be said he is not the first nor likely to be the last to do it at NUFC. CWL

I know where you are coming from and I'm no lover of Ashley or what he represents. Perhaps I may have found it a whole lot easier to live with had I not still been living in the region or bothered to keep coming back for games when I wasn't. So there's always the choice to walk away........................ Yet this is NUFC we are talking about here. Therefore the dilemma is not what it might be like under The Fat Controller for the next ten years. It's about what it could be like should he choose to sell up and we have a situation like that of the Keegan years. I know lads who had given up their seats just before we avoided the drop. When it started to turn around it was all too late and they couldn't get close to getting one back until he had gone. We just don't know which way it will go and ten years is a fair bit of time. CWL

I understand that. You have to do what you have to do. We can always hope that he will trip over himself in "civvy st." Sports Direct going down the drain could be our salvation. (for want of a better word) ;D ;D ;D

Posted on another forum. The matchday programs which were included in the earlier package will now be an optional extra at £3 a time. Way to go Mike.

To those who still think he may be doing this for the fans: The deadline to sign up for the scheme is April 31st - a few weeks before fans see how much of the £35million received for Andy Carroll will be spent on new players. And I don't believe much of the money will be used re-negotiating existing contracts either. Way to go Mike.
