I appreciate that that businesses such as Bars, clubs and some restaurants need security but do people feel that perhaps bouncers employed by them need some sort of regulation and perhaps training. This morning I was deeply upset when a friend of mine-some of you will remember him as DanC from the old Chron Forums-he was a young lad who stood for UKIP-Posted a picture of his facial injuries at the hands of bouncers in Newcastle last night.Whilst they inflicted the injuries he was also called a fat faggot. He admits he was a bit tipsy-however as far as Im aware this isnt a crime. The police were involved and concede that said bouncers used excessive force -ignoring the homophobia.Dan expects nothing to be done.I was telling Chris about this-didnt surprise him one bit-on a recent works night out he had to intervene and assist a lad who was basically having the crap kicked out of him by bouncers-again he was a little worse for wear-but had not been aggressive. My daughter ventured out herself recently with a female friend-they just were planning a meal out.The bouncers on the door of the restaurant were obnoxious and rude-refusing them entry without ID-Despite the fact that neither had been drinking or intended to drink alcohol-when the restaurant was contacted by the mother of the other girl they said they had no ID policy and everyone was welcome. Are these guys out of control and is it time to get some sort of regulation here-I think theres a case for it.

A CRB check is one thing-and yes they need to be licenced. However check this out.A small section on the checks and a bloody long one on how to pay Information for Applicants You must be over 18 to hold an SIA licence. You must also pass our criminality checks and have completed the required level of training. We may also look at your mental health and your right to work in the UK, as well as any other information that may be offered to us or which we have from our own sources. Read more about this How much does it cost? The licence application fee is £220 for a three year licence, except for front line vehicle immobiliser licences where the fee is £220 for a one year licence. The fee is to cover the cost of processing your application and is not refundable; it must be paid in full and submitted with the application. If you are completing your application at a post office you can pay by cash or a debit or credit card that is registered in the UK. If you are submitting a paper application we can accept a cheque from a UK bank account, a debit or credit card that is registered in the UK or a banker's draft in Pounds Sterling. We do not accept postal orders. Cheques from foreign bank accounts cannot be accepted, nor can credit cards that are billed or registered outside the UK. If you pay your own licence fee you will be able to claim tax relief against your taxable income - please visit the HMRC website- this link opens in a new window for more information. 50% discount: Some people may need more than one licence; in such cases the second licence will be discounted by 50%. I think the priorities are clear.I also wonder what the required level of training is.Ive been trained by people who trained the police and prison officers as well as staff from Broadmoor.Every one of them taught me to diffuse the situation and never even attempt Control and restraint unless it was to prevent injury.Even then punching some-one in the face multiple times or kicking them in the stomach wasnt something we were taught-Id have been prosecuted for it and rightly so.

I may have been lucky, but I've never had any problem with "Bouncers" anywhere. Everytime we've been clubbing in Newcastle or anywhere else, I've had good banter with them, and on most occasions I was far from sober. I have witnessed bouncers being "heavy handed" Although I also seen bouncers have to take levels of abuse I wouldn't stand for. I have no doubt the incident happend like DanC (I can't recall him on the chronicle HYS site) said it did. All I'm saying is that there are usually two sides story, and thinks don't alway appear to be as they look.
