It appears that UKIP aren't only interested in taking Britain out of the EU - they also wants to decriminalise racial discrimination. I wonder if they have any supporters at all who genuinely don't believe the party to be racist. " Nigel Farage has told Sky News that he does not want laws relaxed that outlaw discrimination on the basis of race, gender, disability or religion, but does want employers to be able to favour British workers without fear of prosecution." www.msn.com/en-gb/news/other/farage-defends-discrimination-plans/vp-AA9GnHY

I use the analogy of UKIP as a leaky river dam. The dam keeping racism and homophobia away from the media, but it's not water tight, and leaking things that aren't for the media or the the public domain.

Nickk you are the sort of person the media has been talking about, take the comments made by Nigel Farage and then the knee jerk reaction to shout racist kicks in, you are behind with the times nickk and like sourmilky you don't know what is happening around you, if you did you would know that some people in the media have already called him a racist for those comments, surprisingly some people who normally take cheap shots at Farage came out to defend him, any way nickk why are you interested in UK politics, do the Polish people left in Poland get a vote. sourmilky will probably vote call me Dave they both like to waste taxpayers money.

I'm interested in British politics, because I'm interested in British history in general. Many people believe UKIP to be bigoted not because of one comment, but because of a whole series of comments. And before you accuse the media of covering up other parties' gaffes, you've still not answered these questions - does the Guardian cover up Tory gaffes and does the Telegraph cover up Labour gaffes?

nickk I never said the papers cover up gaffes, my point was when it came to UKIP they tend to make something out of nothing, twist things, or accuse Farage of saying things he never said. nickk you would get on well with my cousin, he is an ex history teacher and now a Labour politician.

Making something out of nothing is a bit subjective - one person's nothing may be another person's something. Actually misquotations are a different matter, but I think usually we're talking about things he said on air, in which case you could hear him say it for yourself. I tend to think that someone who has access to on-air media as much as Farage has shouldn't really complain about media hostility. It seems to me as is Farage is happy to criticise other people, but doesn't like being criticised himself.

Firstly, anyone who can or can't vote, is or isn't a British resident, are entitled to express their opinion on any of our politicians, especially when that person has knowledge of British politics. We would think it an outrage if we couldn't comment on other countries politicians. People like Bush or Putin etc! It's called free speech, the down side is other people are entitled you do the same.
Anyone who is standing for parliament (no matter of their political affiliation) get the same treatment of the media. The problem with UKIP and Farage they give the media far more material than most.
Farage would do well to think before speaks, or better still keep his mouth shut. Sadly Farages ego needs constantly feeding.
