The strange case of the remote control.

The week I decided to get rid of 5.1 speaker system, and get a sound bar instead. Allot neater and with "Blue Tooth" it seemed a good idea.
I liked the look (and more importantly the sound) of one by "Bose" so I brought it home and installed it (so simply via one HDMI lead)

Sounds superb, and I've paired it with my phone, tablet and laptop via "Blue Tooth" but a strange thing happens every time I switch it on using the remote control, the DVD player is also switches on . If I switch to movie mode, the DVD starts playing to itself.
I have had, as most of us have had an array of remote controls over a long period, but I've never had that sort of thing happen. I would have thought the opposite should happen when I switch the DVD by it's remote, but it doesn't.
If it continues I will have to take it back. I phoned the shop today, and they haven't heard of it before, but have offered me a refund or replacement. At the moment it's amusing, but knowing me it will soon start to annoy me.
Has anyone had the same/similar experience?

I had the same thing happen with an LG television a few years ago, I have a Matsui air con system and every time I used the remote to turn it on the television would turn on, it did not turn the television off just on, I have a new 3D LG and that does not turn on when I use the air con but the old LG remote works on it, it's just a frequency problem the remote for you're sound bar must be very close to the on frequency of you're DVD player, if you really like the sound bar you could change the DVD player, you could get a Blu Ray player they play Blu Ray discs and DVDs plus they upscale DVDs so you get a better picture and if you look around they are sometimes cheaper than DVD players.

I've solved it temporarily by unplugging the DVD player :)I use the DVD mainly for CD, so it's used it allot.
I was torn between the "Bose" and a "Sonos" not much between price or performance. So the "Sonos" is being delivered tomorrow for exchange.
